I've always been a Honda person but decided to get a Subaru last time. It's a fantatic car! The all-wheel drive gets me through snow like it's butter, although it's not as good on gas as the Honda. I'll definately get another one. What about you?

I have driven an '83 Cadillac for the past 4 years. It had less than 30k miles when I bought it. I put a "flying goddess" hood ornament (from the 30's) on it and haven't yet decided what color it will be...besides pink, which is NOT an option.
My "dream car" has always been a 67-68 Mercury Cougar. Lots on feeBay, but on the west coast. I used to drag race a '68 Pontiac Firebird. (Lost that to #2 in the divorce.) I do like the new Cadillacs. And the old Rolls Royces.

Cool car Twig. Americans just LOVE their cars! What about Silver?
Your Cougar blurb reminded me of a horror story...
My mom bought a brand new 1968 V8 Mustang. It was metallic blue/silver and got 15 miles to the gallon so mom only drove it to work and back. She sold it in 1981 to a doctor friend for $1000.00. It had about 12,000 miles on it. I've never gotton over it.

I'm not particularly loyal to any specific brand. I buy what I like at the best price when my old car dies.
I currently have a 95 Saturn LE.. Voted THE MOST LIKELY TO BE STOLEN in last years consumer reports magazine. I finally got a winner!
I'm also the former owner of a YUGO, a VW Bug, a Pinto, and a couple of cars that aren't funny enough to mention here
The only new car I've ever bought was the Yugo. Drove great for 6 years then something went wrong, and not only had the manufacturer gone out of business, but their whole COUNTRY was having a Civil War. Last I heard, the Yugo plant was making tanks. A Yugo Tank. I love to picture THAT in mind

I drive a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser, one of the first ones rolling off the assembly line in the spring of 2000, which I just finished paying off, so it's mine all mine now. I absolutley love this car!!!! The only way I'd ever even think of trading it is is if Chrysler made a slightly larger version of it
I do still have very fond memories of the first car I got, in college: it was a 1965 Plymouth Sport Fury. Red with a black interior, bucket seats and a reverberator that sounded awesome.

A 1964 Mercury Parklane. For good gas mileage a 1992 Olds 88. To haul stuff a 1973 Ford F-250. If I feel like being a mechanic, my Daughter's 198? Honda Accord.
My favorite car had to be my 1984 Chevy Corvette.

Too many to list. To work I usually drive an old Toyota Landcruiser I've had for a million years. It also does double duty pulling stumps and stuff around here. If I'm going to haul anything bigger than a 12 pack, I take my GMC 1 ton pickup or the Suburban. Both are diesels and propane conversions, and will haul a 6 horse trailer loaded with horse and feed. We have 3 GMC's here, not counting my grandfather's old pickup, which lives in the barn. My wife drives a Subaru Forrester. We've found over the years that Subarus are the only car type vehicles that will hold up on our many miles long dirt "driveway". We put lots of miles on our rigs. My 97 1 ton has almost 300,000 miles on it and is still going strong. I plan to once again drive it 2000 miles to Mexico and back next month.

I sold my RX7 when I moved downtown. I just couldn't justify the parking fees and increased insurance rates when there was nowhere I had to drive to. I'm looking at getting something before I leave for Mexico - right now my head is kind of set on a Jeep Liberty since it's going to get a lot of mileage on what will probably be some dusty old roads during my explorations.
Anyone know anything about the Liberty that I should know before I make the leap?

desquirrel, Mike would be your bud, he has a 94 SHO He loves it.
Then there is a little commuter Toyota
And we just bought another Jeep Cherokee. We absolutely needed it. Towing packing etc.
Fenix, I would go with the Liberty (IMO), we're on our 2nd Jeep Cherokee, we just picked it up this week. (we have a thing about Jeep ) but if I had my druthers, I'd get a Land Rover. I was out voted

I have a thing for late 60's/early 70's musclecars. And I won't drive anything I can't fix. You have to be an electrical engineer to work on late model cars. If money wasn't an issue, I'd buy the new Ford GT and a Hummer.

An 89 Chrysler New Yorker that I bought at the Salvation Army for 950.00 almost 5 years ago. When I bought it, I misread the odometer and thought it said 118k. When I got it home, I reread it. I sunk into the seat as it had 181,000. Today it has 249,900 and is still going strong and looks good for a nearly 15 year old car. The car cost $16.96 a month to own based on the price. What a bargain.
I recently bought a 94 Dodge Van. It's a nice van, rides pretty good for a van. Lots of room for hauling and has a hitch for towing. It's sort of a gas hog though. Getting only about 19 on the highway. the 35 gallon tank cost about 70 bucks to fill up.

fenix: The liberty is a nice little jeep. I had occaision to drive one that a co-worker owns. He likes it a lot. They are also coming out with one powered by the CRD (common rail diesel) engine, which is pretty interesting. The CRD promises much better fuel economy than gas, greatly improved emissions over the standard diesel, and the torque and power of an old style diesel. They are also supposed to be a lot quieter than the standard diesels. They'll carry quite a bit for their size, too.

kraft- I understand the "horror". Just before I moved back, a relative sold an old Indian motorcycle out of his barn to a "downstater" for $500! IT RAN!!!!!
The caddy is already silver (and gray primer). The interior is gray and in very good shape. Right now I'm leaning toward the color of wine (Cabernet). (Sounds kinda odd to paint your car to match your wine!) I always liked that deep green that looks almost black too.
mah- Sounds like your cat is on the mend! As a fellow cat person, I'm happy for you.

2002 Acura TLS- It now has 42,000 miles and needs new tires, a tuneup and brakejob. A good car for the money but the new model is much better.
