Why in the world are Americans attacking each other over these politicians?
By the time a politician reaches national, sometimes state prominence, they have sold their soul to so many people they don't remember half of them. Most of them have lied so many times, they wouldn't recognize a truth if they saw it. If not for their celebrity status, they would be the kind of people we wouldn't want to live next door to us. WE certainly wouldn't want them having anything to do with our children.
Also, as long as they can keep us divided, they can win. You enemy is not your neighbor who espouses one party or the other.

nnt. I agree. I think it is who can promise the most but can that person follow through and then deliver. It will never change. We have a right to our opinions, at least I thought I did, but coming here in the RT it seems like we can't.
So everyone get out and vote whoever wins will have a tough job and will be scrutinized and we best be sure that what is promised is followed through.

I can't agree. This is most likely THE most important election that will decide our future that I've ever seen in my entire voting lifetime.
It's making a decision on whether we're going to fight those who wish to destroy this country....the terrorists in another country...or on our own ground. Whether we take a pacifist view on defense or an agressive one...'don't tread on me'. We're winning....the terrorist are weaker now than ever....but kerry will reverse that trend. This President has already shown us how he's willing to defend this Nation.
I also disagree on which man is MORE honest than the other. I, of course, believe President Bush has been the most honest. kerry changes his opinions as the wind changes....how anyone can trust someone like that is beyond me.

"And they, the interrogator went through all of these statements from John Kerry. He starts pounding on the table. 'See here, this naval officer, he admits that you are a criminal.'" Excerpt from "Stolen Honor"

"I will never submit America's national security to an international test. The use of troops to defend America must never be subject to a veto by countries like France. The President's job is not to take an international poll -- the President's job is to defend America." --President George W. Bush

Linda, I'm not sure if changing one's opinion means you're being dishonest. If it did, that would mean, just on the facts of the wars, Bush is the most dishonest person alive, yet you still trust him. (??)

<<<<It's making a decision on whether we're going to fight those who wish to destroy this country....the terrorists in another country...or on our own ground.>>>>>
I have heard that repeated and it is one of those statements that sounds so good until it is really digested and then it makes no sense.
What, exactly, is this President doing to keep the fight from our shores.
Well, he has messed up the already messed up Visa system - but made no substantive changes.
Our border is still open. Literally thousands of people daily are streaming into this country.
It is common knowledge that ME men are paying up to 35K to be smuggled into this country. I don't think 7-ll's or Motel 6's are that lucrative.
Just two weeks ago the CIA said that a group of Chechnian Muslims had come across the border in Arizona. The Border Patrol didn't seem to know about it - so much for 'under one umbrella' Homeland Security.

I hit the wrong button before I was through.
I forgot, we do have a color-coded alert system!!
As far as fighting in Iraq - all we are doing over there is creating enemies for our children for the next 6 generations.
If a bunch comes into your house and attacks your family. The first thing you do is clear your house of all that bunch. Then you close your doors and windows to keep them out. Then you go looking for that bunch. You don't just decide to go to the other side of town and attack someone who had nothing to do with the attack.

Good points about the war, nnt! I just stood in a long line to vote for Kerry and the major concern of the people that I talked to was the war. What a colossal blunder.
posted on November 2, 2004 10:20:36 AM newCarried over from the EO, the question was,why would anyone vote for Bush...
Here are ten reasons, taken from right here on the EO and the RT..thanks to our most intelligent Republicans posters....ROFLMAO!!!
Why would you vote for Bush.....
1. I have been a Republican for over 50 years.
2. I wonder if Kerry is going to spend some of his wife 's money on us??????
3. Because I wouldn't vote for Kerry for anything and I don't understand why anyone would vote for him,Lets quit dividing the nation over personal opinions.
4. The man stands behind what he does whether it's right or not, whether he admits it or not. He's not backing down. He won't back down.
5. if it weren't for President Bush supporters here, this board would be nothing but traitors and liars...
6. Speak loud and send them the message you want them to hear, NO HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGE!
7.After President Bush wins reelection, GOP controlled congress, ahhh sweet times ahead.
8. We invaded your country and we are not here to be welcomed by you, we are here to kill you.
9.He is the best leader for the US, I could care less what the rest of the world thinks WE are the only SUPERPOWER on this planet lest they forget we will be happy to show them. what is a shame is that there are people in this world who seem to think that America actually gives a rats ass what they think..
10. Only traitors and queers will vote for the likes of Kerry. Oh, and people with their head up their biblical beast of burden. Matthew 19:24

Ya, nnt, the 9/11 Commision said that in the summer before 9/11, despite numerous warnings about terrorist attacks, bush did nothing about our borders.
This makes him a traiotr to his country in my eyes. This was HIS responsibility and he blew it.......AND it doesn't MATTER who did or didn't do what before him....it was HIS responsibility on his watch....he blew it and thousands died.
