The way people in this country have lined up behind their party no matter what reminds me of a joke.

Sally and Mary were have lunch at a restaurant one day and they saw Sam, Jane's husband, having lunch with a 'sweet young thing' (an intimate lunch).

Mary couldn't wait until John, her husband got home to tell him what she had seen and that she was going to call Jane and let her know what her husband was doing. John told her not to do it - it wasn't her business.

A few weeks later, Sally and Mary were having lunch at a restaurant and they say John, Mary's husband, having lunch with a 'sweet young thing'.

Mary was incensed. When John came home she demanded a divorce. John told her OK, but to remember the pre-nup. He owned the houses, the jewelry, the cars, etc. She would have essentially nothing.

A couple of weeks later, John and Mary were having lunch and they again saw Jane's husband out with the same 'sweet young thing'. Mary told John, "You know, honey. I think our girlfriend is prettier than theirs."

WE will overlook anything, it seems.

Sorry, nnt, funny joke but not everyone will overlook anything.

The Republicans will ...if it doesn't directly affect them they don't care about it.

I DO care about others and will continue to fight for good people regardless of who wins the election.

Evil thrives when good people start "overlooking".

There are a few in this country who are not selling themselves short, but ------

If you truly believe that any party will make a difference or any one candidate is a perfect - or even good choice - then you are accepting a whole boatload of garbage.

Neither candidate wants the borders fixed.

Both candidates thinks the war is OK. The disagreement is in how it is being waged - not if.

I keep hitting the wrong button -

Both candidates are bought by big business. NO one else has enough money to wage these campaigns. If anyone, anyone thinks the big companies don't butter their bread on both sides, they need to think again.

Both candidates don't mind imports all that much. Ms. Kerry has, in the last couple of years, purchased 1M in Wal Mart stock. Sound like he is going to seriously curtail those imports?

Both believe government can/should solve our ills.

The list goes on --- there is little difference in the two on the things that matter - except the rhetoric on abortion and I am not sure how committed the PResident is on that subject.

So, yes, a lot of swallowing the gall in order to just have a team to 'cheer on to victory'.

The joke is much more applicable than it is funny.

Exactly, evil thrives when we start overlooking -

Bingo! And it comes down to the perception of us you want the rest of the world to have, nothing much changes near the bottom.

I might need a translation of that.
