I like this one that logansdad posted.

Each box represents one electoral vote in the 2004 election.

lol ..and I like that no matter what map is shown...it doesn't change the final results.

And we don't have to listen for four more years to the left saying he wasn't elected by the majority of the voters either, because with a 3.5 million lead he won the popular vote too.

Oh happy days....

The point, linda is that the maps simply colored red and blue are misleading since they fail to take into consideration the larger population of the blue states. As Roadsmith's link points out, the blue states have a larger population than size alone would illustrate.

But you are right in saying that the map doesn't change the results...<sigh>

I'm not sure we're talking about the same electoral maps! Take a look at the link I just posted in the first message, above. If you've seen those before, please forgive!

Give us a break. Are they going to keep publishing maps till they get one that changes who will be put into office on inauguration day!
Give it up, the Dems LOST.

They're not willing to give up yet it appears. A democratic group has raised enough money to have ALL of Ohio votes recounted.

[shaking head here]
They just can't accept this anymore than they could last time when all they could claim is that gore won the popular vote.

Maybe if they keep this up they can also change all the seats they lost too.

They just refuse to believe that this country is heading right, because it has been proven liberal soft ways do not work...

Bigotry and prejudice -- these are assertions, not arguments. This is name-calling, not case-building.

The last four years were hard right and they didn't "work", twelvepole. Neither will the next four years.

Helen, have terrorists flown any planes loaded with innocent people into any buildings around your vicinity since 9/11?

"Helen, have terrorists flown any planes loaded with innocent people into any buildings around your vicinity since 9/11?"

We've started a war that may last for generations and during the next four years will cost the lives of over 5,000 U.S. servicemen and women, in addition to 30 or 40 thousand innocent Iraqis. The monetary cost will be hundreds of billions. Thirty three hundred people were killed by al-Qaida on 9/11. Right now, 100,000 Iraqis have been killed since this needless war began.
So we have not been attacked again on our "soil"...a favorite point that is constantly made by Bush supporters. They fail to see that we are inflaming the people of the middle east along with al Qaida and it's only a matter of time before they retaliate and another such tragedy happens here.

The next four years doesn't look good to me on more bases than this one.

The war in Iraq hasn't stopped Al Qaeda's plans for another attack here and it's silly if anyone thinks that the war will keep the terrorists there and not on our soil.

I read that Al Qaeda is interested in moving nuclear material into Mexico and then possibly into the US. They could also train at flight schools in Mexico. Al Qaeda takes a few years to plan carefully for an attack and it will have to be equal or bigger than their last one. They used planes last time, this time it may be a very different plan.

BushCo played very easily into Bin Laden's hands and the 'stay the course' action with the needless war in Iraq has made it much easier for the terrorists to keep multiplying all over the world.

Etex: Are you saying that, if and when more death and destruction occurs here on our shores, you'll then feel that the present administration's policies AREN'T working? Stay tuned; I think the worst is yet to come.

And - Linda and others - the point of those skewy electoral maps is to show people who may be rejoicing that so MUCH of the country went Republicans just how close the race was.

Most of those red states are more rural and open, with many fewer people than the blue states.

And, yes, we know that the Republicans won!

etexbill, perhaps you should look at a map of North America again and you will find that Washington State is part of the US. Bin Laden recently reported that Canada is on their hit list too because of its association with the US.

Al Qaeda takes several years to plan their attacks and like I said above, they may not use planes like last time. To assume that they will always use the same plan is very simplistic thinking.

roadsmith...I know what the maps show. Anyone that followed the election knows. President Bush won by 3.5 million popular votes AND won the electoral votes. Being close only counts in horseshoes.

-------

You're correct etexbill - the dems didn't even care that he said he supported so many things the left here were so against. Reason being....he was ONLY the 'any one BUT Bush' candidate. They didn't so much support him as they opposed President Bush.

And I also agree the left just will not give this administration one ounce of credit for changing things to protect our homeland. And sometimes, imo, it appears they look forward to another attack JUST so they can say...'see I told you so'. Matter of fact, one poster here did say that he 'almost wished' that would happen for that reason. Pretty sick, if you ask me.

Roadsmith: No, I am not saying that and I feel that we will have more terrorist activities, probably worse than we had on 9/11. I do firmly believe that if Al Whathisname (whatever happened to that guy?) had gotten into office, we would already have had more attacks. He would have fretted about how much pollution got into the air from the fallen Twin Towers, hummed and hawed, and finally paid off the terrorists in one way or another to try to appease them. The middle east has been in turmoil for eons and the only thing they respect and understand is strength.

And helen, WE didn't start this war. The terrorists started this war back in the early 90's ...it's just that the clinton administration did very little to them when they attacked our interests and our ship. Guess the left needed a wake-up call to see ignorning their actions wasn't going to work.

At least this country decided that if anyone could do the job of protecting our nation while hunting down the terrorist it would be President Bush.

All kerry promised to do was go around the world apoligizing for our country's actions. Thank GOD he didn't get elected.

kiara: I was under the impression that you lived in Canada and were thinking of moving back to the states. So you finally came back to your senses. And nowhere did I say that the terrorists would likely attack with planes again. Don't read something into remarks that are not said.

Well...kiara...tell that to logansdad...he's the one who said he felt that way. And I believe there are many others who do too...just don't have the guts to admit it.

Your country's beginning to take the threat of terrorism a lot more seriously now too. About time.

That's a bad habit kiara has...and she does it all the time.
-------

I read that Al Qaeda is interested in moving nuclear material into Mexico and then possibly into the US.

And what? You think our government isn't aware of that or something? You under the false impression we're not doing anything to prevent that? Because if you are....you'd be wrong.

They could also train at flight schools in Mexico.

There are a ton of things they could do. We can't see into their minds.

Al Qaeda takes a few years to plan carefully for an attack and it will have to be equal or bigger than their last one.

If you truly believe they take that long then all the liberals here who were blaming President Bush for not doing anything to prevent the 9-11 attack....were wrong. As he was only in office 8 months before it happened....but it was all being planned under the clinton administration. But all you lefties are always blaming THIS President for his failure to prevent it. Doesn't work both ways.

Hmmm. They seem to have had enough population and votes to win the electoral votes and popular votes for the Republicans.

That's just like all of the Dems saying that the votes came from the South. I'm sure that all the mid-western and southwestern and eastern states that voted for Bush would be surprised to hear that they are part of the south. I can just hear them singing "Swannee River" now.
