In a very interesting interview with Larry King, Bill Maher said these things.

The chirstian parasite is what took over the republican party. It's not hard to understand why the religious right votes for Bush. They both work in mysterious ways.

These people know the environment is ruined, and their jobs are gone, and their sons are in a desert in some country where the parents can't find it on the map. But! These things will all take care of themselves. It's our job to take care of Rosie McDonald's sex life.

The country is in an uproar again because a woman dropped her towel on a football game. First it was the American public was traumatized for a lifetime when they saw Janet Jackson's black nipple for 1 second.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I guess we should all be happy that all the nipples are covered, or the fines will be 50,000 for a violation. And we must always keep Rosie's sex life in check. These should be what EVERYONE is looking to contain. Nothing more.

An interesting point was made last night on Chris Matthews concerning the supposed vote for "moral values" and Bush's win.

If the "moral majority" has risen up and spoken and voted for Bush, then why is "Desperate Housewives" the runaway most popular show on the TeeVee, including markets in the south and Utah??

I sort of was wondering about that too. It is a very popular show. In the Metro Detroit area, one of the local TV stations is doing a local version of this on the news. I wonder what the religious right thinks about this.

Here's a good example of the hypocracy of the moral right. You can believe me or not but this just happened.

A friend at work wrote on a work log "get 'er done!" My boss got a complaint the next day from a lead person on the day shift about it.
It seems some people were offended by this phrase! I couldn't understand what the fuss was about at all and neither could my boss.
Well, it turns out that a dirty comedian uses this phrase in a sexual way.
BUT since my boss and I don't watch dirty comedians WE weren't offended...

BUT some higher ups on day shift, bunch of righties, DO WATCH this DIRTY COMEDIAN so THEY were offended!

The "christian" right is an oxymoron in and of itself.....and so are their lives and "values".

"Larry The Cable Guy" is NOT that dirty, Maybe a little, but no worse than anyone else you see, My brother and Sister-in-law took me to see him for my last birthday. He was great!

"Lord bless all the little pygmies..."

You have to hear him to understand.

"Get er done!"

OK, so it's someone called Larry the Cable Guy......so if he's not dirty what were they objecting to?

I can only assume the objector had never actually seen Larry perform and just ASSUMED the "GET 'ER DONE" was implying something sexual... I can't say I've seen every one of his routines, but when he says that, it generally has nothing to do with sex.

So I put forward that the objection was due to plain old ignorance and assumption. In your post you say the objector was on a certain shift... You make no connection between this worker and the "moral right."

and to reply to Profe:
"If the "moral majority" has risen up and spoken and voted for Bush, then why is "Desperate Housewives" the runaway most popular show on the TeeVee, including markets in the south and Utah?"

Cause the "moral majority" (not really, but that's the term you used) cared enough to get off their butts and vote in the past election. Most ignorant TV watching couch-potatos didn't care enough to vote. As long as they are entertained in front of the tube, they don't give a crap about what happens in the real world.

There are FAR more people in the "IMmoral majority," but they are too lazy to stand up and be counted. Which is a good thing for those of us with value who DO vote.

On Thanksgiving Day, channel 4 in Detroit aired America's Thanksgiving Day Parade. This occurred from 10am till 12 noon. At 10 am, they usually air the Ellen Show. You know the talk show with the woman who is openly a lesbian. Apparently the directors of this station justified canceling the regular programming at 4 pm, in the fact Ellen took that time spot for the day.

I think the people who "voted values" really voted hatred and bigotry.

In case you didn't realize it yeager many shows on Thanksgiving were preempted due to special programing. CBS - football game, Fox - Football game. Macy's Parade - probably ABC or NBC. I think we even got the Philadelphia parade. So your poor little Ellen didn't get a chance to show her stuff. Get over it. Ellen does not show her gay pride on her TV show. She seems rather straight when I have watched her, which isn't to often. The only time she was openly gay was when she had that girl fried that opps went straight. Regular shows which air during a normal week are preempted on Thanksgiving Day and also Christmas, that is if they fall on a week day and have been preempted for Years and anyway who gives a darn. 1 day out of the year and you are complaining. Why not tape her shows and then when she isn't on you can watch her tapes. Why not do Will and Grace while your at it or maybe the Fab 5.

"I think the people who "voted values" really voted hatred and bigotry" You had better quite thinking because you are absolutely wrong. 35 million people spoke and now you are listening.....

libra,

Please go to the nearest place that has a remedial reading course and sign up for it. NOWHERE did I say in my post that I missed "my poor little Ellen". I watched her at 4pm when she was on. The point of my post was that the TV station could have went on with regular programming, but they chose to run the Ellen show instead. It's pretty simple, that is for a person with basic reading skills.

Maybe your granddaughter could help you too. Reading 50 might be tough, but give it a try.

"You had better quite thinking because you are absolutely wrong. 35 million people spoke and now you are listening....."

First of all, don't tell what to think. Just because you need a spirit(s) to tell you what to think, I don't. I think for myself.

Really? Just what in your mind did they accomplish for anyone?

Also, never start a sentence with a digit. Type out the number instead. Take a typing course too.
