I was watching Channel 8 news this morning when I heard a story about Canada and the ending of selling cheap prescription drugs to Americans. The Prime Minister was on TV stating that the pharmaceutical companies threatened to cut-off or limit their supply of prescription drugs if they continued to sell to Americans. Canada fears not having enough of a drug supply for their citizens and is now going after the pharmacies there that sell to Americans. I can't find the story online anywhere. I wanted to send it to a friend. If anyone knows where I can find this article, I'd appreciate it. It's not on Channel 8's website anywhere.

Must be a slow news day in Cleveland Cheryl, this is nothing new, in fact I think he said something about it weeks ago based on threats the pharmacuticals made months ago.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

I tried finding it for you but to no avail.
I can't remember how long ago it was but the comment made was that soon they would have to stop exporting Canadian Drugs to the US to protect Canadian Citizens. Drug companies have been limiting their supply to Canada and I don't blame the Canadian Government if they do that. Canadian Citizens need those drugs also.
Maybe if that would happen it would be a blessing and then maybe the US can get the drugs cheaper. Remember Canada does not do or pay for the research on their drugs but the US companies and/or FDA have to research before they put them on the market to make the drugs safe. What would you do if you got a drug that wasn't safe and you took it. You would have no protection. You have no protection with the drugs from Canada. There is no a guarantee that the drug inside is the drug you ordered. It probably is but no how can you prove it.

Cheryl, if you're around, what's this about you moving to Nova Scotia? Is that true?

Ha, ha, ha, Classic.
I know this is an old story, but this one went even further with some new developments and timelines. I wanted to email it to my stepfather because he goes to Canada for his and my mother's scripts. I'll try emailing the station. I hate it when they air a story that is worth circulation then drop it while they hold on and on to a story that should have died months ago!
Thanks, all!

Actually, I'd like to visit Nova Scotia at least for a summer. I believe I may still have relations living there. I also have some in Victoria BC, but that's not quite as close to where I am. I've seen photos of Nova Scotia and it looks gorgeous.

We were in Nova Scotia during the summer for my daughter's wedding. It's such a beautiful place with wonderful people -- well worth a visit, Cheryl! In fact, if I ever consider moving outside this area, Nova Scotia will be my first choice.

I checked out a site that lists homes available there and I couldn't believe how cheaply they can be bought!! One was sitting right near the ocean (an old fisherman's home). No wonder my family settled there from Scotland. It's probably quite like their home on Skye. Hope to get there this coming year if all goes well and Dale doesn't keep me too busy to vacation!

I've heard that Victoria BC is quite beautiful as well. Someday when I have the time to travel that far, I'll go for sure. Looking forward to your photo!

Thank you , bear, for once again proving that you have nothing to say but say it anyway.
If Canada stops selling drugs to America it is the bush administration making sure that we get gouged by American drug companies.
We can import FOOD from such "places"as Taiwan and other countries without even having labels on them to let us know where they came from. No safety inspection on that stuff.......But Canadian drugs are unsafe?
How about American drugs...where's the assurance THEY're safe! ?

I'd love to see it anyways. The flowers change year by year and the past few years when there was a water shortage the lawns weren't as green.
This is what it looks like when it's lit up.

Victoria is a beautiful city and there is also the Butchart Gardens.... about 50 acres of plants and flowers. It's very mild there and seldom any snow.

Cheryl, several years ago the wife and I caught a news segment on the noon news about a guy with an electron microscope that had figured out how to get pictures of atomic particles. It was interesting, brief, and actually showed some astounding pictures the gentleman had taken. He stated in the news blurb that he had just cranked this one control all the way over and, surprise, look at the results. He was actually shown at the machine reaching for a certain knob and turning it.
We were very interested and watched the prime time news to see more. There was never any more about it, we could find no news articles on it, and the news station claimed that it had not be broadcast (we asked).
Reach your own conclusion, but we saw it!
