This is one really weird story. Sad thing is this is not the first time as there have been other victims.
Makes you wonder what goes through their heads to do something like this.

"Lisa M. Montgomery, 36, of Melvern, Kan., who had previously been pregnant herself but lost her baby under unknown circumstances, was charged with kidnapping resulting in death"

Sounds like they'll be going straight for the insanity plea... "post partum depression" or something close.

But didja read the end of that article where they list all the other relatives who had been murdered? I am SOOO glad not to be related to these people!

This is one sick case!

I read a bit on this and couldn't finish it. What's up with the gruesomeness of these crimes lately? Andrea Yates, and the one that cut off her babies arms, now this. I don't buy the post-partum depression bit either for these cases. No mother would harm a child - she would harm herself first, so I think these women were baked before all this happened. Insane? Not in my opinion. Ed Gein was insane but these women aren't. They all should get life without parole.

You'll pay more if they get death. All of the mandantory appeals take more money than does the lifelong care of an inmate - at least that's the way it used to be.

Amen. Me too. She wouldn't last too long in Texas. Our death row has an express lane.

That one human could do this act to another is just incomprehensible to me.

And with the baby being born a month early and going home with it's father shows that late term abortions are just plain wrong.

And I don't think the insanity plea will work in her case and it was all planned out ahead of time [premeditation]. An insane person wouldn't have the ability to reason and plan it all out - as it appears this woman did. But yes I agree, to butcher another human being like she's admitted to doing, she had to be insane.

I'd give her the death penalty too.

When you think about the family on both sides I have to feel sorry for her husband who is just as much a victim as the slain woman's spouse is.

Talk about the destruction in these peoples lives right from the grandparents to the father of this child.
