yep they induced labor and sent her home!
She was dilated some, and having contractions, so she went into the hospital, and he 'induced' labor. Sent her home until they really start coming.

So I *might* be officially a grandma today!!

I'm nervous, and not sure why! (I'm supposed to be in the delivery room with her husband.... and I don't know nuttin bout birthin no babies! )

ALRIGHT!!! Keep us updated please.

I beat you by at least three days. My granddaughter was born by C-section on the 14th. 8#'s 7oz. and 21 inches long. All ten fingers and 10 toes...healthy as can be...good set of lungs too.

Just don't pass out in the delivery room, granny.

Grandchildren are fun and I can attest to that. One is 9 years and the other 1 year both girls.

Congrats Linda, and also to you NTS.

There's nothing better than becomming a grandma! The photo below is one of the many things you have to look forward to. Tiffany's first grade class at their Christmas pagent. The school can no longer afford a music teacher due to budget deficits (no one to play the piano either) so the regular teachers put in many extra hours to get all the kids ready. They did a fantastic job!

You also have to make sure you spoil that grandchild! Never, ever, ever send your grandchild home the same way they came to you. It's your job as a grandma! You'll know you've done your job correctly when that grandchild calls you after being disciplined and says, "Grandma, mommy's being mean to me". LOL! Then you can yell at your daughter, "Don't you be yelling at that child. . ." Remember. . .it's not only your job, it's your right as the grandma! Don't ya just love paybacks?

Enjoy! Let us know when the baby comes.

Well, its not 'soup yet' What the dr did was 'stretch the cervix'? (spell check on that!) but so far, nada.

Libra, I'm sure we'll have fun with 'Lily'

Cheryl! What a great picture (I've seen your other pictures, and your a great photographer! )
LOL on spoiling this child! I think we furnished the entire 'nursery'! They live in whats called a 'roommate apt' its huge with 2 master bedrooms and bath with each. The bathroom is ALL yellow rubber duckys, she has the crib and accessories (we got that) plus THREE bassinetts? (why 3 I have not idea, I didn't do that) a brand new dresser, changing table, the mothers glider rocker, a walk in closet that has more clothes than any child needs (we didn't do ALL that, the shower and friends got a lot of that) the 'travel system' (where was this stuff when my kids were babies?? LOL)

So 'Lily' is well equipped!!!

I LOVE what you do, and I am going to do the exact thing!! Payback is a .... is rough LOL!! Liz drove me nuts, and she knows it! So when we have this child over here, we will spoil her, and like yours, if she calls and says 'moms being mean' I'll do the same as you!! LOL!!

Oh, Cheryl (and Maggie) I feel so badly about your daughter(s)!! and prayers being sent to both. You never think that young women get this! And I'm sure everything turns out ok, and good thing you both caught it early. (I'm replying here, because, well, the other thread got a little out of hand.)

on with the wait.........

Maggie, no, not yet. When I said they induced labor, she had told me that the dr 'strecthed her cervix' ?? and that would do it. Every visit since, he would say 'I can feel the babys head' well DAMN that head should be out by now.

So Friday he told her if she isn't in labor this weekend, Monday she can pick a day!
So, she said it would be Tuesday! When I asked her what he was going to do, she said he was going to break her water. So, we shall see!

Darn kids gonna come out walkin and talkin!

Actually I'm glad it wasn't in the last couple days, I've been sick, and she would never, ever forgive me if I wasn't there!

Yeah, a mouthful of teeth LOL

She told me yesterday, 'Mom, I'm not pregnant, just fat' so I told her, ok, do you want to borrow my Pilate dvd's? LOL! She is really, really tired of being pregnant! (I would be too, both of mine were early)

NearTheSea - I hope you're feeling much better real soon. No time to be sick when a first Grandchild is on it's way.

And if she gets to choose the date....here's something she might consider.

Monday's Child
Monday's child is fair of face,

Tuesday's child is full of grace,

Wednesday's child is full of woe,

Thursday's child has far to go,
Friday's child is loving and giving,

Saturday's child works hard for a living,

But the child that's born on the Sabbath day,

Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.

----THE END----

Linda, that is cool!

I really never knew what day of the week I was born, so I used their calculator thing

I was born on a Tuesday!

Thanks! I really think I'll be ready for the delivery room now, well, not RIGHT now but by tommorow or later

crowfarm, its a Mother Goose rhyme. I knew the rhyme, my grandmother had it memorized, and I remember her telling us that when we were young. But the site will let you find out what day of the week you were born! Its pretty cool!

I'm full of grace ......... (born on Tuesday)

Maggie and Libra

Fortunately for me, my insomnia kept any damage from being done. The acct was hijacked between 3:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. EST. Somehow, eBay knew it and shut my account down before real damage could happen. What a PIA, though. Good luck on anyone figuring out my password now. It's a complicated mathematical computation in numbers and letters. God help me if I ever forget it. LOL! Thanks for your concern!

Turns out the day wasn't so bad afterall. Had a banner day sales-wise.
