Another reccomendation for those of you with Netflix. Really interesting disection of Fox News and their behind the scenes policies and journalistic methods.

I purchased "Outfoxed" last fall. It is a very interesting look at Fox News and how it is operated. Interviews of many former employees are also featured. Basically, the way they work is that everyday they are told by the head office what they are to say, how they are to slant it, what buzz words or phrases they are to repeat, etc. I had always wondered why it was that no matter what you watch on Fox--be it new or commentary--you hear the very same things repeated over & over & over. This explains it.

Linda- before you mock something it would probably be best to actually watch it.

fenix - Exactly what is IT that you KNOW I don't watch??

Could it be ...hmm...NBC or was it ABC that was seeking out a story on an injured soldier to use in their storyline on the President's inaguration day?

Or was it CBS that's had rather shamed to all get out...and their employees fired over posting false issues.

Or maybe it's the NYT who has more corrections than chickens lay eggs and only reports the corrections somewhere around page 17 when, weeks later, they actually do print they were wrong AGAIN?

Those outstanding news media sources that the public is learning can't be trusted to ONLY report the NEWS...and not make each article a left-wing support and op-ed piece?

Now....I've mocked some that I've read. But I don't only get my information from Fox. It's just the left can't handle that they've been so successful as to make their way to #1 in cable. And have even beat the mainstream media like CNN when important issues are on TV. The people are trusting them more and more and our mainstream media less and less.

Linda - I KNOW that you have not watched the documentary that this thread is about. Because of that I KNOW that you have not seen former FOX producers talk about the daily dictations of the slant that news is to take. Because of that I KNOW that you have not seen them talk of the UNBALANCED swing of the news stories that are presented. I believe that you are probably oblivious to the fact that FOX has eliminated the line between editorials and news reports within their network.

Personally I could not care less if they were suceessful if I thought for even a moment that they understood the actual meaning of the words in their "Fair and Balanced" tagline.

Put your money where your mouth is Linda. Watch the DVD and see if you, such a huge supporter of them, do not recognize much of twisting and distorting tht they do.

Well...if you KNOW all those things there's really nothing else to discuss. You don't need me nor my comments....because you already know them.

But I do want to say, for those who can't read people's minds or tell them what they have and haven't done , that there have been more firings at CBS and the NYT's for what the dems here think is the 'good journalism' ....than ever at Fox News.

Number one in cable.

edited to add that it was ABC, not NBC, who was seeking out funerals for our fallen soldiers so they could show them on President Bush's inauguration day. That's they're attempt at 'fair and balanced' news. Using our soldiers deaths to try and make him look bad. Didn't think anyone could go as low as dan rather did....he should be tried for treason for pulling that crap 6 weeks before the election. Talk about 'fair and balanced'....what a joke. It was an out-and-out lie to hopefully get voters to vote for kerry.

And you wonder WHY people are turning in droves to the internet and Fox News for their news? I can see why....the 'journalism' of the left supporting media can't be trusted to not be setting up a President whose agenda they don't agree with.
And that's why their ratings are sinking.

Why dodge the question? I'd be interested in hearing your opinion of it. I haven't seen it, but it's on my NetFlix list. If you'd like, I'll burn you a copy and send it to you

LOL profe - How very kind of you to offer. But as bunni said...it's been out for months...and really is old news that we've discussed before on these threads....
but you're just a little too obvious for my liking.

It is funny how the left wants to encourage others to watch MM and this anti-Fox film. But won't even EVER speak about their own left-leaning media when asked about it. Oh no....the firings aren't happening because of very substandard journalism....and worse yet...rather should be facing criminal charges for what he did...trying to sway an election....it's a felony....and yet the left just wants to prove to the world how Fox News isn't fair and balanced. No...all those 'lefties' they have on to discount what the righties' are saying are really just more 'righties'.

But hey, if you like MM latest movie...bought it hook, line and sinker...then you will this too.

LInda - mind finding that thread? The only network related documentary that I recall being discussed here was the Al-Jazheera one. If OutFoxed has been discussed I would enjoy seeing that. I notice though that you still have not actually answered Profe's question.

Have you fenix? lol Well you should be all knowing and not have to ask.

Honestly something changed on my saved search link - and it doesn't work anymore. Until someone posts it again I don't have the ability to search anything other than google...which some of our threads are on too. But maybe you, or someone else can pull it up.

But I'm not lying...we did discuss it because it was in the news and the left wanted to 'let the world know' just how Fox news isn't fair and balanced at all. Like I really care what the left here thinks of them...or like they do either. Their ratings are going up up up ....that's all ALL the media cares about. Fox is no different.

So maybe a search using either the names of the two who used to work and Fox and were the one's complaining or just 'past employee's' of Fox might bring it up. Or ask bunni...she'd probably remember talking about it around the time she bought her DVD.
