So what is y'all's best predictions and opinions of this race?
Pirro sure has some wonderful facial bone structure. I think Hilary should sneak away and get some of those crowsfeet removed from her eyes. She would look so much better. And God knows she can afford it.

Dblebble, your political insight and analysis are staggering in their brilliance!
Shows a depth of political understanding yet to be seen in the modern world.
Who mentioned auctions? Jack Sprat could eat no fat, his wife could eat no lean....so her brain got fat....

I'm shocked that you didn't include in your post, DBL.. that Hillary should ditch the pantsuits for frilly dresses and aprons!

Let's see, she's a republican running in a very blue state, and here's a good little tidbit:
"Smart, glamorous, and ferociously self-promoting, Westchester D.A. Jeanine Pirro is the most promising woman in New York politics since Geraldine Ferraro. But will her husband's indictment on bribery and fraud charges (not to mention an embarrassing sex scandal) derail New York's GOP golden girl?"
. . .That "bastard" is Albert J. Pirro, Westchester's most influential real-estate lawyer, a man Donald Trump keeps on retainer -- for when he wants to develop an island off New Rochelle or build a $100 million golf-course community in Briarcliff Manor -- a man whom Republicans like Governor George Pataki count on to feather their campaign nests with his clients' money, and a man who was recently indicted on 66 counts of federal tax fraud. The Feds say Pirro hid $1 million in income between 1988 and 1997, claiming dozens of personal luxuries as business expenses, from his $123,000 Ferrari to his wife's Mercedes-Benz.
Though federal tax law allows spouses to claim ignorance of their other half's business dealings, Al's list of exemptions raises real concerns -- at least about Jeanine's lack of curiosity. "She's a bright lawyer," says a former assistant U.S. Attorney who worked in the office now prosecuting Al. "How could she not know? You're going to see some things in her husband's case that shows she's ethically blind." Jeanine Pirro refuses to discuss the matter, except to call the investigation "invasive and hostile."
Though she co-signed several of the couple's joint tax returns (she earns $136,700 a year as D.A.), she has offered no explanations. Not about the Mercedes, which she drives each day past the $40,000 electronic gates of her $1.7 million Harrison home -- gates Al claimed as a business deduction -- or about the deductions of a $3,700 backyard awning; $10,000 in furnishings for a West Palm Beach vacation home; another Mercedes, for Jeanine's mother; cruise tickets; stereos; fine wines; cigars; toys; and even salaries for workers who baby-sat the Pirro children, picked up the dry cleaning, and took the family's pot-bellied pigs to the vet.
If Al Pirro is convicted, the scandal could derail the political future of New York's brightest Republican star and Westchester's top vote-getter, a woman who served as master of ceremonies at Pataki's second inauguration, a woman who -- until the indictment -- was a contender for the Senate seat being vacated by Daniel Patrick Moynihan in 2000.

Thats all real interesting tabloidic information you got there Cheryl. Is she running for a seat, or is the husband?

World Net Daily is a tabloid news site.
And that proves what? The National Enquirer is a tabloid. They released the story on Dana Reeves before any other media outlet had hold of it.
Just because something is considered tabloid doesnt necessarily mean everything they come out with is untrue, either. It may be subject to skeptism, but anyone with half a brain knows they intentionally blur they lines between truth and fiction for sensationalism and continued subscription.
Even the so called legitimate media has been out-scooped and out-truthed by them more than once.
Saying it's a tabloid site means nothing anymore."""
Boy, Pirro sure is bringing some baggage into this because of what her husband did
Then this from Dbel, ""Linda, dont you think I am just trying to help Hilary out here? Freedom of speech is great thing in this country! ""

Interesting comment coming from the side that says because of Bill Clinton's indiscretions that Hilary doesn't stand a chance at much of anything.
Edited to add: The issue is that if she is such an intelligent DA, how can she claim she didn't know her husband committed tax crimes? Hmmm? I don't buy it. Not for one little minute. Tabloid or not, the fact is that her husband committed a serious crime for which he spent 11 months in prison. For her to claim ignorance is just plain silly
Except for NYC, it's quite a red state.
So are you saying that only NYC voted? New York is a BLUE STATE. Not a red one.

Wrong Cheryl. It's quite common for a spouse not to be involved in filing the taxes. It's also quite common for one partner to be the checkkeeper and bill payer. Some times the other doesnt even know what kind of debt they are in or what condition the total finances are at because they dont handle the finances or do the bills. And do you know what your partner is doing every second on his job? Most two couple partnerships who each have a seperate career, do not really get all that involved in the other one's.
Maggie, I'd reckon it'd take a queer eye to offer some expert opinion here, but I've heard a straight A-Line skirt does wonders for that humpty-dumpty-stumpty-rumpety figure your idol Hillary has. But let's not dwell on Hillary looks, its so petty. Lets talk about her brillant politics!

desquirrel: I've heard it. Pundits are even now are commenting about the both of them having the bad husband albatross round their necks.
I'd like to know what her standards are. Where's shes been in the legal system, and what's SHE's done, etc. I'm going to go on the web to see if there is anything about her, instead of the husband.

Well cheek bones and crows feet aside, all initial poling shows that shoe would lose to Hilary in a dramatic fashion so I guess thatmaybe the people of New York at least care more about accomplishments than a photo friendly face.

No, I'm saying -- I'm merely -- I'm saying what I'm saying. I don't know why I'm always having people say, are you trying to say -- you know what you can do if you want to know what I'm saying is listen to what I'm saying. What I'm saying is what I said ...

"LOL Bowllhohooowlll....Sweetbejesus!"
So what is it you dont comprehend about this statement?
Dblfugger9: "Just because something is considered tabloid doesnt necessarily mean everything they come out with is untrue, either. Its very similar to your postings here crowfart. Lots of nonsense, fart jokes, prying into other peoples lives, puzzles, recipes, and let us not forget: FASHION!! (nudge nudge - and hows that queer eye of yours doing today?)
Crowfart in glee: "LOLBowllhoowllll!!! I win again!! I always wiinnnnn! Wheeee!!!"
Go work up a post about the ACLU and prove again what a giant ape you are and how pathetic the democrats are to have to consider you as part of their constituency.
You win! You Prove!....ummm...not quite. I took four of you down to your own hypocrisy levels in one post here. I'll have to change my name to the quadruplefugger!

Cheryl, when your husband hands you tax forms and says sign them; if you trust your husband and accountant and youre a busy career woman...yes, you sign them.
Thats why they have the innocent spouse provision. It's known to happen more than you think.
But still, this is all you want to digest about this woman running against your Hillary?

OMG..you really think you're something special don't you..DBL.. if your tongue wasn't so swollen to match your big head, do you think you would be able to speak without that horrible impediment?
Anyway.. as long as you find yourself amusing, I guess that's all that counts..hee hee...
Besides.. we all know who's who and what's what now.. don't we..

What I'm saying, DBL, is whether or not any of us agree with it, her husband's conviction will bite her on the azz. I don't think it's right. Personally, I think it should be a non-issue, but we all know that it won't be.

They probably don't even do their own taxes, they may do just like I did last year - I get all my stuff together, my husband gets all his stuff together, and we take it to a tax accountant. And, if its an accountant you've been working with like we have, you just stop in their office and sign after a couple of weeks.
There is also such a thing as married but filing separately - so it is quite possible she never even saw his tax returns.
I doubt either woman, if they have any sense, will start casting stones about husbands.
I think Pirro will certainly give Clinton a run for her money. She is very, very sharp, I've caught her on Fox News a few times.
Also, New Yorkers may feel that with all the talk regarding a possible Hillary presidential run, that she wouldn't finish out her term.

IMO, it might..it might not. New Yorkers are generally not as 'plussed' by that kind of thing as the rest of the country. They voted in Hillary - didnt they?
Personally, I think it should be a non-issue, but we all know that it won't be..
Smartest thing you have written to this thread so far Cheryl. MHO, of course! [smile, I am kidding with you.]

She appears that way to me too, Caroline. I will tell you that New Yorkers admire and respect that. She'll put Hilary on her toes if first impressions are any indication. Should be an interesting race if they get past the junk, but I probably wont get around to keeping up with it because I'd have to get all my news from an internet source, and I really barely have time to be chatting over here.

No..you're much older than I am, DBL
What impediment do I have oh-facinated-with me-regressive-one? Are you hearing my voice in your head now this daily fantasy? Sounds like a sign of dementia or senility happening right before our eyes on this board.
