I just picked up an old guitar cheap at a local auction, figuring to use it on camping trips and other places I wouldn't take a "good" guitar. When I got it home I noticed an old string tag with a $525.00 price on it for this guitar. It was made by a luthier named Bill D. Casselberry, whom I've never heard of and can't find in a google search. Anybody out there ever heard of this luthier,or have advice on where to research this guitar?
Thanks in advance for any help.

The only person I can find with that name is a photographer in Oregon.

You might try contacting him & seeing if it is a relative of his:

Also, try this on the eBay Outlook forum

Do you have any Pictures?
Where did you find the guitar?

I've never heard of him but there's many a good luthier out there that's unknown to most.

What would you say as to the quality of the guitar?

The guitar sounds and looks good, and is very easy to play. I got it at an auction in Kalispell,MT. for under $40.00. It has a bit of a musty odor, like it's been stored in its case for a long time. From a reciept I found in the case,t was bought in 1991 from Amazing Grace Music in San Anselmo.CA. ,so I guess I should try calling them to see if they're still there and know anything about this guitar and its maker. Thanks for the suggestions.

I've been looking for some sort of web address:

Amazing Grace Music
(415) 456-0414
111 Red Hill Ave
San Anselmo, CA
Music Stores

www.sfcelticmusic.com/

This link was with the ad. It's for celtic music. Maybe you can e-mail the web admin.

I called the shop and it's still the same owner as in 1991 when the guitar was purchased, but the only thing he could tell me about the luthier is that he's not a local. Oh,well,it's a nice guitar and I'll enjoy playing it,and some year someone will say, " cool, you have a Casselberry-- my ex-wives third cousin twice removed had one of those".
Thanks for the help,folks.

You might want to put the name out there on some muscian sites to see what develops.

Could be an interesting history.
