Grand Jury Indicts DeLay for Second Time
New Felony Counts Include Money Laundering

AUSTIN, Texas (Oct. 4) - Rep. Tom DeLay was indicted for a second time in less than a week by a Texas grand jury looking into campaign contributions, a development the former U.S. House majority leader called "an abomination of justice."
DeLay, 58, is the highest-ranking member of Congress to face criminal prosecution. The initial charge, conspiracy to violate the election code, forced DeLay to step down from his GOP leadership post last week.
If convicted, the money laundering charge carries a penalty of up to life in prison. The charge of conspiracy to launder money is punishable by up to 20 years in prison. The initial conspiracy charge carries a punishment of up to two years.
My question is will we know who is paying for DeLay's defense of these serious charges?

I should think he'd have to pay his own legal bills. The taxpayers should not have to pay them. I'm sure he can well afford them.

Hello All,
I am serious and do not have any idea who is responsible for Delay's legal bills. Is it legal for special interest groups like Churches or lobbies or the G.O.P to give him money?
I don't think DeLay will ever go to jail but what if by some strange chance he does go to jail. Is his family responsible for his legal problems. I think I remember that his wife was being paid a lot of money for a consulting business for DeLay.
Its been a long time but was it DeLay's wife got around 1/2 million for consulting her husband?
I don't pretend to know if DeLays charges are founded or not maybe they are political like DeLay says. All guys like DeLay say its political when things go wrong for them. I tend to believe money and power corrupts a lot of these guys. They start believing they are some kind of super man and can get away with and do anything.
We all know these guys have lots of ways to funnel money around. All I am saying is SHOW US ALL THE MONEY AND WHERE IT COMES FROM.

I think that as long as the government, and therefore the tax-payers, isn't paying for it then it doesn't matter who is paying.

DeLay if convicted could face live in Prison for money laundering a very serious crime. On money laundering crimes the money trail is very important to fight this type of crime. Its the money trail that gets convictions. I do believe the majority of American would like to know who is giving money to a guy like DeLay.
Clinton, made a horses azz of himself. I thought he should have been booted out of office for lying to the American people. I also believe Bush and Cheney shoud be booted out of office and put in jail for lying to the American people. Why the difference, when Bill Clinton lied nobody died. Because of Bush and Cheneys lies 2000 fine Americans have died and we are still counting.
Bill Clinton is no longer involved in making laws I have to live under DeLay is. I don't live in the past.
I know you people can't see the difference between money laundering and outing C.I.A. and liars that get Americans killed. Compaired to making a horses azz of oneself like Bill Clinton did over a girl friend. BUT I CAN.
