Just tallied up my totals for auctions in august...not good. Worst month ever, this month won't even have to break a sweat to beat it. My car needs a brake job. I lost a 20 dollar bill somewhere while I was non yard saleing. It rained on my yard sales so I got nada this morning and I can't find the Heraldric top thingy in the computer game I'm addicted too. Just a cruddy depressing day and it is only half over. Can't even make a smiley face on or off the computer.

So..Give me some good news please.

Welllll, had 2 of the cars go in the shop at the same time, most likely have to have surgery on my knee, all the horses have required the vet, can't recall where I left my mind....

BUT,

My daughter just qualified for Certificate of Merit from the United States Combined Training Association after riding her way to a 4th place finish at one of the national horseshows last month. And, IF she can pull down one more finish at 5th or below, she'll move up the Bronze Medallion Club.

I'm SOOO Proud of her! Everyone keep your fingers crossed for her...she's showing again next weekend!

That's not good but cars and knees can be repaired (don't we live in a great time) but 4th place in a NATIONAL show. That's really, really great and very good news. Give her a squeeze for me.I'm proud of her.(I was crazy over horses as a young girl now I can't pet one without sneezing.)
See I knew someone else had good news.

Hi tegan,

My daughter once asked me why we have bad days. I told her it was so we'd be able to recognize & appreciate the good ones more. So when everything has picked back up, you can look back & say, "Geez, this is a WHOLE lot better than it was.".

Don't feel bad about the sneezing. I don't sneeze when I'm around them but my bank account sure coughs & wheezes, a LOT!

Hi, Barry (you devil you) Barris,

How's that codpiece I lent you?

Hmmm, I wonder. Is a used codpiece the same as a used panty thread?

Tegan I don't know if I can share this with you and have it come out making any sense but I'll try.

I went shopping with my teenage daughter tonight and we went to a local diner beforehand. There was a young couple sitting across from us that caught my attention almost immediately. I was intrigued by them because they were so totally wrapped up in each other that it was obvious to anyone watching that they were utterly and completely in love. It was so touching that I found myself glancing their way - trying not to - and then trying not to be obvious -

They hung onto each others every word - and looked into each others eyes like they were the only souls on earth. A minute wouldn't pass that one wouldn't reach over and touch the hand of the other one.

It reminded me so much of when I first met my husband. He still captures my heart like no one can - but, for this short while of watching these two barely twenty year olds I couldn't help but envy them for the place that they're at in their lives right now.

As my daughter and I were getting up to leave the young girl got up from her table - whispered something to her sweetheart and started over toward me. I was mortified because I thought she must have noticed my glances and been offended.

Imagine my surprise when she came over and said, "I know you don't know me - but, I couldn't help but notice you and your daughter, and how much fun you're having together. She turned to my daughter and I could see the tears in her eyes. She said, "I lost my mother when I was only 4 years old and all my life I've wanted what you have. I just thought you should know that."

I wish I could say that I did anything but sputter and stammer... but, that's what I did with a quick thank you and we left. All I could think of was how I had sat there watching and envying what they had - and not stopping to realize that I had something equally as priceless sitting right before me.
This evening my daughter and I talked about how easy it is to become so comfortable with the blessings in our lives that we forget sometimes how truly blessed we are.

When I popped in and saw your post I felt compelled to share this experience. I think it helped me to experience and I hope it helps you too.

Thanks, I usually am very grateful for what I have but there are days when stuff just piles up so high you can't see above it.
A lot of it has to do with not getting enough sleep I think.
Thank you for sharing your experience. It really was touching.
khiecat:
My dad used to say a good way to keep aware of how good your own life is is to do volunteer work for those less fortunate. I haven't been doing that for the last few years because I am just to tired with what I have on my plate now.
I decided to call family outreach today and get back on the ball. Even if I can only do a day a week they said they can use me. It will be fun to get back out in the world. As an artist and an ebayer you tend to get isolated I think.
My husband took me out to dinner and tried to cheer me up. I think between this post and that I feel much better.
Barry:
Thanks for the sunshine.

105 listing days til Christmas!!!Yea!

mybiddness that is SO nice! What a beautiful story!
There is nothing quite like having your children as friends and knowing that they know that they can count on you long into all of our golden years as someone to talk to and share unconditional love with. You do have something priceless.

What a neat story Mybid.

Tegan, I hope you day ended better than it began.

My good news isn't much but I enjoyed it. I used the day to slop around, play on the computer and not get dressed or fix my hair. It was wonderful but it's a good thing my husband and I have been married for 27 1/2 years or he would have high tailed it out of here after one look at the standing straight up hair.

Smile, life is good.

Tegan I know what you mean. I think life just gets too overwhelming sometimes - We have so much in common - my eBay and art work are my income - if one isn't calling - the other is.

I'm thinking about taking this week off eBay though - my husband is having gall bladder surgery Tuesday a.m. I'm so nervous about it I don't want to have auctions to worry about on top of that.

Calamity Isn't that the great thing about working out of the house though? I love sitting in the p.j.'s til noon every chance I get. I tell myself I get more work done in p.j.'s

Yep, Mybid. It is much more comfortable. Kind of like let it all hang out, meaning the butt and the gut!
