We just watched another Eddie I. DVD, this one taped on a New York stage. I'm sure there are detractors here, but we think he's a brilliant genius and laughed sooo hard. Good for the soul.

Is he a musician or a comedian?

I've never heard of him, but laughter is good for the soul.

I suspect that we Democratic liberals will appreciate his humor more than conservatives would. He is well-educated, well-read, and can dredge up obscure historical facts quickly. When our best friends first told us about him, describing this transvestite, I was going eeeewwwwww in my head. They lent us one DVD and we were immediately hooked. It's almost impossible to describe his act--but try to get past any feelings about transvestites and just catch him once, somewhere.

Well, I googled him Roadsmith and he looks familiar. I wonder if I've seen him on BBC.
Will check him out. Thanks maggie/boom

He will start a topic, ramble off and on the topic for about 10 minutes and just ramble right on back to the topic at the end. In spite of his seeming disorganization, he's very disciplined about his craft. Sort of like the Hal Holbrook Mark Twain LPs.

One thing I appreciate about him is that he doesn't talk about or dwell on his orientation. Or that of any of us others. It just never seems to come up, and he's proven he can be funny, at least on the two DVDs we've watched, without ever once talking about sex! Just like the old days before all the so-called comedians came aboard.

But he does use the F word when appropriate, so people need to be okay with that.
