Hi Everybody--that dang Diet Coke has done me a number again. When will I learn--Caffiene Free after 10 am? So anywho--wide awake--bright eyed and bushy tailed--emailed family and friends (but with the KAK scare email I sent last night--there are some I know I will probably never hear from again )
So---hmmm- what is your favorite all time TV program? For the past --I'll start with Star Trek, the original series. And for the present---Dharma and Greg (Larry is so relevent to me!)

Ok, I'm awake too! I haven't gotten back to the work week routine, just returning from a week off.

Past favorite: hmmmm...difficult...I didn't watch much TV when I was young.

Present favorite: Judging Amy (I was going through a divorce/recovery the same time as her and really related!)

jeanyu I'm actually doing a pretty fast fade - finally getting sleepy.

My favorite past shows are most of the old comedies like Dick Van Dyke and Andy Griffith.

My favorite current show hands down is Becker.

jeanyu, and those long legs,

Still sorry, I don't have a clue about who stared in Man in Space. I think it was on in 1959, and my memory just won't take me back there...

Jeanyu: Emergency Animal Hospital is on the Animal Planet channel. It's great! Filmed at a Colorado Veterinary Hospitay called Alameda East. Hugh place. They treat every type of animal imaginable, both exotic & domestic. Every episode features 3 or 4 animals that are sick or injured.

BarryBarris: Car 54 Where Are you? was an especial favorite of mine when I was very little. I even liked the commercials--they were sponsored, if you recall, by Lava Soap & each commercial featured Gwynne's sidekick saying "Ooh! Ooh! Lava Soap!"

Oh yeah! Almost forgot: How could I not mention:

"You Bet Your Life" with Groucho Marx? (I *loved* that show!)

and a British import that disappeared after the local channel airing it made a critical editing error on night:

Dave Allen At Large --disappeared after that fateful night never to be seen again, and boy do I miss it!

We are British TV fans from way back. The series "As Time Goes By" is one of the most well written shows ever. Of course anything with John Cleese also.

What I want to know is why they cancelled "Sports Night"? And why did the mom on "Everybody Loves Raymond" get an Emmy for playing a shrew? If I was that mean and disrespectful to my husband he never would have put up with it.

The first few years of MASH were the best thing on TV, Henry Blake et. al.

Dave's World was great as well, but didn't last long.

The Paper Chase series, but again, shows that are too intelligent never make it.

I'm showing my age, so I'll stop now.

I didn't watch TV (couldn't sleep either and you guys know why from my previous thread)

I watched kitties at play....

as for my favorite programs:

Whose Line is It?
West Wing
Judging Amy
(stomach growls) uh...
A&E biographies
movies at Starz!

I used to love watching Dr. Who just for the ending credits and music

Most of my favorite contemporary TV shows are animated:

Simpsons
King of the Hill
Futurama
Daria

I've grown fond of "Malcolm in the Middle" and I've always enjoyed "Frasier".

I still miss "Barney Miller". IMO, the most realistic cop show on TV.

I find that since I've acquired cable, I spend most of my TV time watching Discovery, A&E, the History Channel and HGTV. "Extreme Homes" is a real treat for me.

xardon: HGTV is why I don't have cable. I will watch that like a zombie till my eyes fall out.

Snowyegret: Boy do we have similiar tastes in TV I loved twilight zone and outer limits.

Red dwarf is one of my all time favorites. If you like that you'll have to see Black Adder. It is hysterical.

Bunnicula, so what was the story on Dave Allen's finger?
Two others from the same period I miss: The Two Barrys and The Goodies.
On a more recent note there was another PBS series of a divorced woman whose daughter moved back in with her after traveling Europe. I can't remember the name of if. It wasn't Grace Under Fire (another favorite) but it had a similar play on the woman's name.
Hope Something? Faith?
Help, anyone remember it?

edited to add: Oops, the show was The Two Ronnies, not The Two Barrys. That's what I get for posting at 2:00AM.
