got back from the dentist only one tooth lighter today!
it's been a gas! {pun intended}
the overhead light turning into a dragon's head with a harness, my lower body disappearing, minutes became seconds, and interesting tunnel vision
wheee!
after it was over, I came back to harsh reality and the novicane (sp?) wore off.....
now sitting here typing my keyboard with one hand and holding a cold pack against my cheek with my other hand.
had to have liquid food to eat, blech
*sighs*

toomanycomics,
oooooOOOOoooooo, your story about the gas brought back a memory I would like to forget, it was not one of my better moments.
Sitting in the dentist chair with the gas turned up (I don't do well with doctors) I made a comment to the DR. that I should not have. It was so bad that I can't give you hint about it because the nature of the comment is out side the Community Guidelines.
I meant well but it sure did not come out well. Then I realized what I had done and knew this man was about to stick sharp objects in my mouth...
Worried, oh yes. But the gas took over and everything went well. I did apologize afterwards. Like I said, not one of my better moments...

Just last week I had to take my twelve-year old for a root canal. It really wasn't at all like the horror stories. She sailed through and didn't even complain of pain after the Novocaine wore off! The most painful part of the whole process was paying the bill!
No, I'm not new to AW -- just took all of your advice and changed from my eBay id!!

I agree - root canals aren't bad. My friends and co-workers delighted in terrifying me with horrible stories before I went for mine. Nothing to it. Getting the novacaine wasn't fun but definitely not unbearable. And I had absolutely *no* pain afterwards - none, nada, zip. I was amazed. I never felt the slightest twinge.
(Of course, I just had four wisdom teeth pulled about a month ago and that wasn't bad either. Maybe I just have a high pain threshold.)
