Has anyone heard how Mybiddness' hubby is doing? Wasn't his surgery scheduled for today?

Thanks

Hi Jada Thanks for asking - I'm always a little jolted when I see my name on a title!

There were complications and we've had to reschedule his surgery until Thursday @ 6 a.m. Hopefully, he'll be well enough then - he can sure use all the prayers here.

As sick as he's been he still has that warped sense of humor. We were at the hospital this a.m. having more test, etc. and a nurse walked in and asked me what surgery he was scheduled for. He's laying there half wiped out on pain and painkillers but without missing a beat he says "a hysterectomy." They love him there - but, I did make him keep his water pistol at home.

Mybiddness,

Laughter is the best medicine. It sounds like your Hubby has the best medicine...

Mybid,
I'm sorry the surgery had to be cancelled but the two of you keep that sense of humor.

We're pulling for you all.

I really appreciate the thoughts - can't wait to get this behind us and get him back on the mend. He vascilates between laughing and bitching - sooooooo cranky that I wanna slap him. But, I can't cause he's sick darn it.

Barry (bad instigator)Barris - The water pistol is well hidden.

Mybid,
The alliance has spoken. The water pistol should go to the hospital. I want to hear about the squirting of the staff. Especially the little old ladies who deliver magazines.
Think of it this way. It's an easy way to water the flowers from the bed.

Mybiddness - Sorry I'm so late getting back here, but my hubby had the computer tied up most of the day and last night. Just cause he built it, fixes it, pays for all the parts, etc., he acts as though he owns it.

I'm sorry to hear the surgery had to be rescheduled, but better to get all tests done.

I'm glad your hubby is keeping his sense of humor as I know, from seeing my Mom suffer with this, that gall bladder problems can be extremely painful.

I will definitely keep both of you in my thoughts and prayers and will be thinking of you guys tomorrow morning.

Yep, I agree - let him take the water pistol to the hospital.

Well, I had to do some detective work to get the scoop on Mybiddness's hubby. I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers on Thursday.

I vote YES for the squirt gun! A person has to have some fun...

Best wishes for a successful surgery and prompt recovery. Will be praying for him and YOU, too!

Give him the water pistol, but make sure it's empty! hehe

I'm back home again - another cancelled surgery. While I enjoy seeing my hubby in those cute little open-back hospital gowns - this is getting really old.

This time it was low potassium levels that nixed it. Sooooooo frustrating!

Thanks much for all your support!

Mybid,

Sorry to hear that it got cancelled again. That's got to be really frustrating. Do they have any idea when they are going to try it now?

I'mreally starting to think that the squirt gun is a very very good idea.

Hi Calamity It looks like some of the meds they've recently put him on have negatively effected his blood sugar and blood pressure. Add the problem of low potassium and it makes surgery too risky. They've changed the meds and we're monitoring -so far it all still looks bad. He may have to go into the hospital to get stabilized so that they can go ahead with the surgery. The painkillers are helping - but I think are contributing somewhat to the problems too.

Frankly, I don't think his doctor is taking it seriously enough - but then he's not the one in pain. We're going to see how the levels do over the weekend.

Maui is right. I'll donate the Southern Comfort to put in the pistol...

Mybid,
Sure hope those levels get stabilized. Sitting around waiting in pain for an operation is a real bummer.
You are right, things would be different if it was the Doctor in pain.
