At the top of the threads list:

Al Gore.

The weather.

The Olympics.

New fall shows.

It's like conversations you have with a girlfriend's parents.

You forgot the Deep Thoughts on Coach Knight, spaz.

Wake me up if anything that leaves interesting sediment turns up here.

Okay
Since 2 out of 4 of those threads were started by me I'll take this one.

We're are having what used to be known as light conversation.Topics of the day that interest you and help you share parts of your life with others and share in thier lives.
Granted it's not deep any meaningful like the old panty threads but give a girl a break.
Every conversation can't be a search for the meaning of life. (which by the way is 42)

The recurring problem: everyone wants to play but very few want to play the same game. Since its inception the one prevailing topic for comment or discussion in the RT has been topics for discussion. That does, however, make it circular, so I suppose Round Table is still an appropriate name.

If you throw Coach Knight and Celebrity Survivor into the mix, it starts to read like "Must-See TV."

I have felt particularly kind and gentle as of late, Spasm (hehe), but if you'd like, I can revert back to my tempermental (meanie) self...

There's lots of drama going on between the lines of the postings. Maui may not be back, for example.

Irene,
I noticed that--hopefully it'll blow over.

Barry--Lure Pareau into the financial backing; he had some great ideas before I withdrew.

Julsey--NO, NO, The Horror!!!

Spaz--A New Fall Line-up previewing at the RT?

Pareau Is more than welcome to join my campaign, It would be a big boost to my ratings...

Have to come up with a title. Pareau, if you are interested in helping me you can choose your own title...

Barry (Hail to the Chief) Barris

Edited to add a c to the bluebounce thing so it would bounce...

To tell you the truth, I'm not really a VC, A, and I am not keen on politics. That's why I wanted to elect you. I have problems with Barry being elected, because then he'd be too busy to post here, and even if he did, he'd have to have a minion write his parentheticals. How would you like reading "Barry {dictated but not read} Barris"? Besides, I have a feeling he wouldn't wear his red hair for all state occasions, and he hasn't yet promised to invite Iggy Pop to the White House. And were Ms. Ivins to accompany him, I can imagine the squabbles over the Cabinet (not that one, the one with the hooch). OTOH, we'd have the most genuinely upbeat, positive leadership this country has seen, probably ever. I'd have to defect just to admire it from a sufficient distance.

Re the dramatics elsewhere, I'm working on a Tom, Dick, and Harry mephisto so we can have gender equity. I'm open to story lines, and think this one should involve time/velocity problems, taxidermy, fantasy sex, and a prize-winning barbecue sauce recipe. I'm open to suggestions, as always.

Thank You Pareau,

You know how to put a different spin on things. I had not thought about how being elected would effect my Auction Watch activites. This is something I must ponder...

BTW, Pareau, you also make me smile...

Barry (Iggy Pop, consider yourself invited) Barris

You didn't mention the hair, Barry. Are you POSITIVE you want the Commander-in-Chief position? Wouldn't trouncing that Hillary person give you more satisfaction? Now THAT'S a campaign I could sink my teeth into... hehehe. Think about it, Barry (no carpets, no baggage, just good times for all)Barris.

Sorry Barry, I love those parentheticals.

Ah Pareau, I wouldn't have recommended you had I known that you were previously committed to creative literary pursuits. The outline sounds fascinating. But quit trying to lead Barry astray; he has only begun to compromise....besides I'll lose Tahiti.

Deepest apologies, your Honorable Tahitiness. In my enthusiasm over the prospect of saving our state from The Clutches, I completely forgot your anticipated diplomatic posting to parts warm of clime and few of clothing. Far be it from me to stand between you and an all-expenses-paid stint in Paradise. I'll leave that to your tomatoes.

Julesy,

LOL

James,

L7, as in "Pretend That We're Dead"?

krs,

Don't miss him in the least. He's been posting ad nauseum at RossipBoard for more than a week now.

Gingertree seems to have touched a nerve with that blast from the past.

chococake,

News to me, but I'd appreciate someone bringing me food who doesn't expect a tip. Let me know when you find an institution with sufficient insurance to take me, and I'll pack my implements.

I'd like it if LadytofLake (?) would come back. Donna wasn't it? She could be inciteful.
