NO NO NO.... Please don't hate them! They make WONDERFUL Pets! (You must realize, of course, proper training is essential.)

They're great junquemama - please keep them coming!!!

The guy in the first one looks eerily like my 8th grade Math teacher, Mr James, but I think number 2 is my favourite

Michelle

*edited because I finally remembered the Math teacher's name - we all just called him "Snoop" (because he did).

I am curious there Michelle, how long would a thread proposing hating something other than men would last?
This thread is NOT funny and should be locked and womed!

twelvepole, I'm with you - if only because this is an ADMITTED case of trolling.

Your hateful posts, twelvepole and hq, bring this threads topic to relevancy better even than did the originator, who is 'Having Some Fun' as contained in the descriptive purpose of the Round Table.

Take a break. Go lie on flat rocks.

Chill out guys - this is great - It's not only a showcase of real talent - but, some funny stuff. Do we have to take everything sooooo seriously?

I vote for more!

I could post an "I Hate Triffids" thread and we could find out, twelvepole. And if you want a thread "womed," which "Weapon of Mass" are you talking about? A 45-minute sermon or hymns that span two octaves?

HCQ, I was surprised at your post. I don't see this as trolling, but I guess I'm going to get it in the neck for my "Sex at AW" thread. It's not a crime to have a provocative thread title, and I like junquemama's pictures and these cartoons. They're commentary on the human comedy, and they're about laughing at yourself. I don't see any hatred being directed toward anyone, and think the word "hate" was used euphemistically. JMO.

When I think people should lighten up, things are dire.

Lighten up? Ok, well hell I know a few KKK members that have plenty to post about.
Equal opportunity hate right?
And shoot that would fit right in with your wanting a sermon there pareau.

Oh for heaven's sake, Twelvepole. Would you please point out where in junquemama's cartoons you see anything about "hate"?

The KKK? I think KKK hatemongers are a little more serious than a few funny cartoons - that are btw poking as much fun at the woman in the cartoon as much as the man.

Yes, please lighten up - Why must this turn into a mudfest?

As a confirmed male, I just want to register that I am not at all bothered by an "I hate men" thread. It's a joke. Big freaking deal.

I don't know junquemama but I've been a fan since I first saw her posts some time ago; she has an interesting persona and she's very clever and honest. That her cartoons are objectionable is BS. If anyone doesn't like them, then don't read them; no hate message there of any kind that I can see.

Everyone,

I see no problem with this thread. The word hate in the subject is obviously not meant in the literal sense. I see no evidence of trolling, either.

As always, if another member's posts bother you in any way, the ignore button is at your disposal.

I thought "musical" when I saw the title. I'm a big fan of the film musical "Kiss Me Kate" (based on "Taming of the Shrew" ), and there's a song in it called "I Hate Men." My favorite line in it is: They may have hair upon their chests but, Sister, so has Lassie...

edited to fix UBB--can *anyone* tell me why an " followed by a ) will always produce a if no space is placed between them?!?

Was that a shot at Lassie? Was it? I think it was, and I'm here to say NO COLLIE BASHING, bunnicula. That's my fantasy mother we're talking about. Ahem!

Unflappable moi? Noooo, like I told ubie when we had the ideal-mother chat, it doesn't matter! Lassie is love.

Now I wish we could get back to jokes, and see more cartoons from junquemama.

they are quite useful when it comes for lifting heavy stuff, doing the dishes, mowing the lawn, cleaning house, and not bothering me
