My 12 year old no longer wants me to tuck him in - or say his prayers with him. I understand, but many times, it was my only prayers all day. A sad rite of passge.

Part of letting go. It's no fun, but you have to do it. You can always sneak in and tuck him in after he's asleep.

Look at it like this... one page turns, but you still get to read the rest of the book.

You have alot of great things ahead like... first date, driving, homecoming, prom, graduating from high school... and so on. It only gets more interesting, and amusing from here!

Well, ya and all that but twelve year olds usually want mom out of the room so they can turn some pages in the Playboy hidden under the mattress and form a prayer tent all their own....

found this old e-mail....

10 year old blues
A father asked his 10-year old son if he knew about the birds and the bees.

"I don't want to know," the child said, bursting into tears. "Promise me you won't tell me."

Confused, the father asked what was wrong.

The boy sobbed, "When I was six, I got the 'There's no Easter Bunny' speech.

At seven, I got the 'There's no Tooth Fairy' speech.

When I was eight, you hit me with the 'There's no Santa' speech.

If you're going to tell me that grown-ups don't really get laid, I'll have nothing left to live for."

They get to a certain age and they rather their Mom doesn't see them in bed with a woody.

It's part of growing up.

It's a man thing.

Time to step back, give advice when asked and watch him grow up.

“if God had wanted man to vote, He would have given us candidates.”
