My best friend and my daughter are both getting divorces. AND they both have my phone number at work. This does not bode well, my friends.

What's happening in your lives tonight? Or dare I ask?

Muriel, have them both call at the same time each day, and conference them. They can commiserate, trade coping tips and lawyer referrals, and you can put them on handsfree and get your work done.

hey muriel the 'party' is still going on in Maui's birthday thread, it's a virtual party

I'm going to stop in again myself at the party(taking a deep breath) so don't hold back, just have a party!

Boy, have I had an up and down day!

My husband, who is a construction worker, works erratically during the year. He has been off for several weeks until this Monday, when he got a call for a job. A good one, too, not far from our house instead of the usual hour drive away and expected to last 2 months or more.

So, Im excited and decide to finally replace the 17 year old barbeque grill that tries to burn off my eyebrows every time I light it. I find a decent one on sale at Target and spend 3 hours today putting it together! Run to the store and buy a nice steak. Can't wait for dinner.

Hubby comes home early. The company shut down the job because the customer, a new dot.com BTW, ran out of money and halted the work. There goes the job - two and a half days and it's over. I'm really bummed.

Oh well, made the steak, a nice salad, and veggies, put on the linen tablecloth and lit the candles. Had a nice dinner. Looked at my nice husband and my two beautiful kids and I think life is wonderful!!!

I'm excited, and I think...just like a little kid, I am going to have trouble sleeping tonight. Because...

Ralph Nader is holding a rally tomorrow on my university's campus. I was just waltzing along today, on my way to German 3, bitching the whole way cause I hate that class, when I saw this BIG flier on a BB..."Ralph Nader Thursday 3:30P at the O'Dome." I nearly started yelping when I saw it.

I admire him so much, and find him so inspiring, I think I might faint at the sight of him up close.

I am really thrilled!

He is in NYC this weekend. I am going to see him myself. Hope you report back on what the rally was like, and bring your smelling salts.

I'd like to see Mr. Nader speak in person.

I have seen him interviewed on TV programs and I really admired the way he practiced what he preached. He doesn't own a car, among some other interesting things!

He cuts through all the crap. I hope you get to see him!

Right at this moment I wish I felt better. I'm having a bout of Chronic Fatique Syndrome(CFS). When I get like this I sleep from 12 to 15 hours a day and when I'm awake can't do much anyway because I get exhausted just talking let alone anything else. When I was well I only slept four or five hours a night and felt great. So much to do and can't do anything.

Pareau --

You lucky dog...the super rally; that should be an amazing experience. I hope you report back, too.

Busybiddy --

I think you hit on what draws so many people to him...there isn't a phony thing about him, which makes him so easy to relate to. I feel like he is a peer, instead of some huge, untouchable figure.

I have to hand it to my univeristy, too. They have tried see that all the different parties were represented via different speaking engagements.
