(See "When...Pt. 1" )

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? And, why? Did you realize your dream?

I wanted to be a physical education teacher, but gave teaching music some consideration also. Music and sports were my passions.

Neither of these dreams was realized.

I was raised in a military boarding school. As such, class sizes were limited and only the top [A & B-grade) Science students were accepted in Biology, which assured you a spot in the Chemistry class (needed for College Prep). No room for C-grade Science students.

So, I took the Business courses, which led to my less-than-passionate career.

Your turn.

I also wanted to be a Phys Ed teacher when I got out of 8th grade. However, exposure in High School to less than enthusiastic, beyond middle-age gym teachers took care of that. I also had the problem of being soooooo bored in high school that the thought of college was the last thing I wanted to do.

Although I'm not doing exactly what I would like to be doing, my job is secure and it pays the bills. I'd rather be a stay-at-home Mom, but this is the next best thing. I can do my job then go home and forget about it!

My best job, though, was as a sales secretary for a children's publishing company. I coordinated activities for about 60 reps across the country. It was a big challenge to my organizational skills and was a wonderful way to make friends all across the country. Even now, 9 years later, there are still a few of them I am in contact with on a regular basis. If they hadn't relocated out of the area, I would probably still be doing that job.

I wanted to be a veterinarian. Didn't make it but much later in life I was an animal health tech. If you're a good tech you get to do almost everything except surgery, and then you're right there with the vet. The best part of being a tech and not a vet is you have more interaction with the animals. I loved it and it was the best job I ever had.

I wanted to be an artist.
Now I make my living selling folk art paintings on ebay. So I guess it has come true.
Maybe not the type of paintings that I expected to do and I don't have the loft in Paris but I'm as happy as a Yorkie rolling in dead thing goo. (And let me tell you that is happy )

Thank You Ebay,Thank you AuctionWatch.
Edited to give thanks were it was due.
