It's a clock radio that you can set to record a radio program.

I saw it advertised SOMEWHERE. Of course I can't remember where, it may have even been in a mail order catalog that I threw away.

I can never think of what to tell my kids to get me for Christmas, because I have everything I ever wanted (I'm very low maintenance.) So, I try to come up with something that they can waste their money on that I would never waste my money on.

I have a habit of listening to a radio talk show when I go to bed. It has some great debates about religion and politics, but I usually fall asleep around 3 A.M. so I miss about two hours. It might be kind of neat to have it recorded and listen when I can.

chococake you ought to do a search and find the C. Crane Company's site. They might have a link from www.coasttocoastam.com which is the cool weirdo all night talk (ufos, psychics, ghosts and etc.)

I know they advertise the wind-up radios and used to offer these (maybe they were the Bay-Jean radios?)

Thanks Joy I'll give it a try.

I was wondering maybe one night I wanted to finish the show and I was falling asleep and thinking I wish I could tape this. Then I was dreaming there was this type of radio and there really isn't. That would be funny!

Sony made a bedside clock/radio/cassette called the "Cube". I believe it would record from a broadcast source.

Just about any cheap boombox is capable of recording a radio program. Some even have timers.

I believe if you search with the proper keywords you should be able to find what you are looking for before Christmas. Try AM FM Clock Radio Cassette for starters.

I have a regular alarm clock with a radio and a cassetee player/recorder built in.

When I want to tape a radio program in the middle of the night, I set the alarm to go off at 3 a.m. or whatever, turn the volume all the way down, and press play and record on the cassette recorder. When the alarm goes off, the power goes on and the tape starts recording.

Kerryann, what's the brand name of your radio? I may just have to go that way. I tried what Joy gave me above but didn't find anything.

Well, it took me over an hour on the Web, but I did find it. However, it's way more than I want to spend. It's called Reel-talk and the price is $139.95. I guess there are more people than you would think that want to record radio talk shows for them to make a special radio just for us. Ha, who knew?

Mine is Lloyd's. I've had it since about 1985.

I just used the Mail this auction to a friend feature on eBay to send you an email. Check your auctionwatch e-mail for it.

Hey chococake I thought this was for your kids to buy for you? Don't mothers EVER have the right to ask for something frivolous and expensive? One day you will pay more than that for a pair of athletic shoes for just one of the "little darlings".

I do the same thing, though. That's why I end up with the 6 pk. of cotton panties from K-Mart under the tree every other year.

kerryann, I didn't know if you didn't use the email here for 45 days it gets deactivated. I had to reactivate, so please try again.

joy when I speak of my kids it's my son and daughter-inlaw who think they are grown! You get panties from K-Mart I get slippers from K-Mart under the tree. I use to get the good kind but I think my daughter-inlaw decided K-Mart was just as good! LOL

I used to record a program that came on early with my stereo plugged into a little digital timer from Radio Shack.

kerryann was that AW email from you about the auction? It was a different name and not AW mail. I tried replying on AW but that thing seems to be messed up. I'll be checking on that auction.

Thank You
