We just signed up with Dial Pad. I bought a headset with microphone. Everything seems to be working. I'm getting through to the other party that I'm calling, but for some reason they can't hear me, even though I can hear them. I've switched on the microphone feature on my computer, but something is still wrong. Anyone? Anyone?

hi Muriel we have Dialpad and used it the other day. No problems. i'm not sure where you might be having the problem, the call must be connecting if you can hear them, can you hear it ring etc like a normal call?

also have you checked all your settings within Dialpad and also your settings for your computer and browser in general just to make sure you don't have anything muted?

wish I could help you more

Hello Muriel. You may not have the volume set properly for the microphone. If you're using IE, go to START-PROGRAMS-ACCESSORIES-ENTERTAINMENT-VOLUME CONTROL. Once in VOLUME CONTROL you'll see a heading called MIC MODEM BALANCE. Be sure you have the volume turned up and the MUTE button unchecked. Also, press ADVANCED and you can make other adjustments to your sound. There's a MIC MONITORING under OTHER CONTROLS but I'm not sure what that does so you should try checking and unchecking that box to see if it helps with your problem.

We had the same problem. My son said it had something to do with the computer. The setting on something wasn't just right (I think it was the sound card?). Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I'm not the computer person in the family.

We have it working now and call my Dad in Ohio with it. Only thing now is a few second delay feedback the other person gets. Kinda' like an echo. ~Patricia~

Hi Muriel,

I have experienced the same thing. I can hear the party answering the phone, but cannot make myself heard, no matter HOW much fiddling I do with the settings. My ISP told me it is because my modem does not support voice. (Rockwell HCF 56K Speakerphone PCI modem that came with my HP Pavilion.)

I guesss we will both have to buy a better modem in order to use this great service!

muriel did you call Dialpad and ask them about your particular modem and whether they know if it can't be used with their product?
