Lamb. Just the smell would make me woogety. Now just the thought of rare little lamb loin chops makes me woogety - but in a good way. Sigh.

I found out as an adult that if you didn't cook vegetables until they were mushy, that they actually tasted pretty darn good!
So, bring on the broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower, zucchini, brussel sprouts, squash, peas, etc. You can keep lima beans & beets though. They still taste terrible! hehe

Green peppers. You couldn't get me to eat one for 35 years! Now at 36, I think I like em now. Fajitas anyone? Yum.

Onions and Mushrooms ; double cream.
Everything smelled or tasted of boiled onions , it seemed , when I was a child. I bought a hot dog from a street vendor when at college , and it had fried onions in it. My bus came , and there was nowhere to toss them , so I ate 'em . Yum !
My mother grilled large portobello mushrooms on toast for my father. Looked and smelled like toadstools to me .
I can't say on a public board what they tasted and smelled like in later years , but suddenly , I loved them .

Definitely fungus, oops, I mean mushrooms. I would actually pick out the pieces when my mom used cream of mushroom soup for a dish. Now I order them on purpose! I still don't like them raw though, yuck!

Pickled Beets. My grandmother is the Queen of canning and I never appreciated her until recently, probably because I know she has terminal cancer. Anyhoo, I used to gag over thought of eating anything that was not store bought, I was scared to death I would get some kind of poisoning from her home canning, and I hated beets. She gave me a jar the other day and I thought I would just pass them on to my husband, I tried one again and just loved them. Heather

Asparagus. I think it was because the first time my mother prepared it, it was the mushy stuff out of a can. I love fresh asparagus, especially stir-fried, or the spears wrapped in smoked ham and covered in hollandaise sauce.
I have learned to also appreciate artichokes, freshly steamed and served with lemon butter. Yum yum.
