Last night I was reading letters to the editor, and this lady was so desperate to find Peter Pan peanut butter, she wrote a letter to the editor. Really made me laugh.

She has just moved from back east to CA, and the only peanut butter she can find is Skippy and Jiff. She said she has been to dozen's of stores, and can't understand why if Peter Pan is made in CA why isn't it sold here?

One reason it was so funny is I also grew up eating Peter Pan peanut butter and had to settle for Jiff. So, how about you, what kind of peanut butter to you like?

Skippy Creamy....TM eats Skippy Chunky

Which makes me giggle because one of our Aussie friends on another AW post introduced her friend Skippy. No offense Nettak.

Oh NOOoooo, it's MR. SKIPPY!!!!

Where the heck do you buy Crazy Richard's peanut butter?

Ok - I'll confuse everyone and throw in an Australian brand product:

Sanitarium Smooth (Not the unsalted one and not the one with sugar added)

Jif Reduced Fat Creamy (Yeah, I know it has just as many calories but I like the taste of the reduced fat one better!)

Jif...and I have to be the one who uses it first...there's something about messing up that perfectly smooth surface. LOL

Reeces Honey Roasted Chunky Peanut Butter. And I make absolutely killer fudge with it. Thirteen batches at Christmas. It brings people to their knees.

If I eat peanut butter all I get is a trip to the emergency room. I have a bad allergic reaction to nuts!

chum - oh I would hate to be allergic to peanuts. I buy 15-20 pounds of peanuts a month. I started with only 10 pounds for the squirrels. But now we all snack on them. I have them in a kitchen drawer (which is always open.) When my grandson wants some he fills up a plastic dish that is always in the drawer for him. He's finally big enough..3 years old..where he can shell them himself.
If I don't get to Costco I've had to put peanut butter on the window sill for the squirrels. Of course they like super chunk the most. Once I only had creamy and the sun melted it. What a mess my window sill was.

I don't believe peanuts are technically "nuts." Aren't peanuts a member of the legume family? I think they are related to beans since they are grown in the ground, not on trees, as most nuts are.

Kaffro: OH YEAH!! I just love how the surface is sooo smooth and shiny! And there is an art to how you scoop it out of the jar. No digging into the middle & making a big mess! (yeah, I'm weird!)

Once I bought a jar of PB & when I got home I opened it up to discover that a big bunch of it was gone...Almost puked! Gross!
