Help, I'm drowning in a sea of fabric!!! Some help me. My loved ones have all given up.
About a year ago I purchased a large lot of newer, unused fabric from an estate sale. I make custom costumes and I used plenty of it, enough to make back my investment several times over, but there are some pieces I just can't use because they aren't appropriate to what I make. Most of the things I can't use are either a little too kid-oriented (flannel with polka dots--perfect for pajamas) or too 'frilly' (eyelet) or 'lacy'. For various reasons I don't want to bother to list this stuff on ebay, but I'd love to swap individual pieces of it for other fabrics (love getting stuff in the mail!) Does anyone here know of a fabric swap bulletin board? Or does anyone here want to do a swap?
My relatives thank you. They are hoping to find places to sit in my workshop if the swap is successful.

brighid - Do a search on the 'google' search site. I just typed in 'fabric swapping' and the search came up with over 7,500 sites. Yahoo even has it's own fabric swapping url.
Have fun.
I love fabric too, but I'm saving mine for the thousands of projects that I'm going to do someday.

I did search on Google and Yahoo, but I couldn't find any sites where people are swapping whole pieces of fabric (say, 3 yards of polka dotted flannel, which is just crying out to be made into some little kids' PJs, but which I have NO use for!). Everyone only seemed to be swapping small pieces for quilting.
I'll swap this big piece for one yard or more of something. Make me a (fabric) offer! And I will mail first!
