My concern are those damn infomercials on television..you know the ones...'for only $.70 cents a day you can help a starving child...blah blah' I have grown tired of seeing these kids in rags with their ribs sticking out and gangrene feet.....what troubles me the most is that these foreign sex maniacs in these 3rd world countries continue to breed and give birth to children in these conditions.

What are they thinking???

'Gee, I have no income, no running water, no education, no job, I am a drain in society myself...say...let's have about 10 children that we can't feed, clothe, educate, provide medical attention for, and will probably die before the age of 10....'All because they were 'in the mood' some child has to suffer ..and to top it all off when they can't provide BASIC HUMAN NEEDS to these children they turn to other countries for assistance ....Well damn if it's that simple let's all start having babies we don't need or want because we can always pawn them off on someone else by making them feel guilty by making commercials of them living in the cess pool that is a result of my laziness and filthiness.. Is that how it's done?? There is enough of a poverty problem right here in our own backyards..why should I have to work to support someone else's kids??? I can barely make ends meet with my own.. I have enough damn sense to know where babies come from and enough sense to keep them from coming if I feel like I can't provide a decent living.... HELLO PACO HORNYTOADO in Louse, Chile..you unemployed horny bastard..ever hear of BIRTH CONTROL???? Evidently not since you and your wife seem to popping kids out like a damn Pez dispenser..I got one thing to say to you 'Be a man, get a damn job, take care of YOUR OWN family for a change because I need my $.70 to pay my kids' college tuition...' and this crap about no jobs...no economy boo hoo..there is a damn McDonalds in every country just about..you too good to flip burgers if it means you might be showing a little responsibility? My kids come before my pride..I'd shovel cow dung if it meant my kids would eat...this crap just gets on my last nerve.... I have a great idea..let's use that .70 a day to buy these morons some rubbers..if it meant that these poor kids wouldn't have to live in the sewer I'd gladly donate to THAT charity....Fresh outta breath and on my way to WORK....

"Ever hear of birth control?"

The answer is no. How the heck would they know about birth control? I know someone who adopted a 10 year old boy from -- ironically enough -- Ethiopia last year. He's a sweet kid and all, but they had to teach him how to use a toilet because he'd never seen one until he came here. So how would he know?

The story goes that in rural India foreign aid workers distributed condoms and didn't notice any decline in the birth rate, so they investigated. The people hung them on the wall of their homes. Why? Because the genius red cross people handed condoms out to people who didn't know what they were and told them it'll prevent them from getting pregnant -- without explaining how.

Spelling edit. Also, "they" say that 3 billion people alive today have never used a telephone, not even once.

Now THAT is deprivation.

krs: another problem with your Chilean example is that most of South America is predominantly...Catholic. Birth control? Over their dead bodies. And now we have the good, kind, religious right in power in our own government penalizing any organization which even speaks about birth control (and not just abortion) in other countries.

Until the Catholic Church decides to step into the 20th century, it's going to be a long time before birth control becomes a serious cultural option.
Besides as developing nations become "2nd world" nations, they become great emerging marketplaces.
Read: higher energy usage, consumption etc.
Forget rainforest, forget habitat, we are talking countries with no laws protecting indiginous people, human rights, safe drinking water, open space etc.
Overbreeding is the open maw that will turn into one ugly monster if people don't stop and think about getting people to:

STOP BREEDING

whew, I, too feel much better....

Just like Europeons did in earlier times without resources of today---large families meant that maybe one or two would survive to become adults.

krs, I don't know what to think, I do agree 100% with your statements, but I have to say that with our previous disagreements that this may be a trap you laid for me. After all, I have been accused of being heartless, this is not something I would expect from you.
I shudder about the people who don't shudder at all.

Very rarely have I seen you take a stand on something. You mostly just like to stir the pot. Your above statement is just not something I would expect from you, guess I have not been around long enough.

A side note, I used to do the Feed the Children Sponser a Child. Then I found out that Larry Jones and his family members are paid huge salaries, plus the millions and millions a year that they spend on advertising, money that could be better spent elsewhere in my opinion. If you are thinking of sponsoring children, make up some of those care packages and dontate food and clothes, don't give them cash. Of course, you run the risk of it being stolen by the workers, but what else can you do? Once a year I call Feed the Children and we do a fill a truck in our town. There is more of a chance that this will get to those people who truly deserve it.
I shudder about the people who don't shudder at all.

Well, you see, that's just a net rant. Why do you think it's an expression of my feelings?

Just as you say, I never take a stand on anything, just stir the pot. Now quit talking to me, I'm cooking.
