If you're like me, you're sick of this show already regardless that it has yet to air even once.
The advertising has been at the overkill level for weeks now.
I'm betting the show bombs, largely on account of the shrewish British woman who's the host. Just don't think America's gonna go for a cold fish like her. NBC claims Weakest Link topped Who Wants to Be A Millionaire in Britain. But the British version of Millionaire didn't have Regis either. I think Regis's appeal is a large part of Millionaire's success.
From what I've seen in previews, this frosty Brit host insults the contestants and then dismisses them by sneering at them and cawing "You ARE the weakest link. Goodbye."
Goodbye is right, lady. I give you two months, no more.

Speaking of Cawing and being shrewish, who
ever thought Judge Judy would have success...
mind you I've only tripped over her show Twice...the first and last time!

Here's the URL to British article about the Anne Robinson, host of Weakest Link, who's been dubbed "TV's Rudest Woman" and is described as a cross between Cruella Deville, Hitler and the head of a POW camp (ah, hyperbole!)
The ads you're seeing now are a new "friendlier" series. They have a catchy little tune and downplay the host's abrasiveness. On the NBC page for the show, they have a profile of Anne Robinson, and the headline is, "I'm Not Regis ..."

Even Frasier Krane's wife, Lilith, has more personality and charm.

fter seeing the types of shows that are successful in this country, nothing surprises me. Jenny Jones, Jerry Springer, All those lame ass court tv shows... why not the weakest link? Shows that play to the lowest common denominator always seem to be successful. Sad but true. I stopped watching tv when I heard they were cancellling "La Femme Nikita".

I've watched the show (once or twice) on the BBC and its not as bad as the previews (from what i've read here) says it is. It seems like something the "American" public would go for. The questions she asks, though, are quite simple.
