I just heard on the news that Hillary said she will never, ever run for President.
I have to assume that she would not accept an invitation to run for VP either.
Too bad.
However...
If I had all of that baggage, I would make the same decision. Sometimes it just gets too heavy.
The Clinton haters and the press would eat her alive. You think the presidental campaigns are long now...?
I, for one, would not be up to it.

Oh, sure.
Politicians are known for their honesty. Especially the Clintons.
If she said it – I’m sure you can believe it!

no matter...
at this point, they can dig up Pat Paulson, and even HE would beat Bushy in the next election.
Never seen so many blunders, in such a short time as with the current "Commander of Moronism"

she is wise not to--the Republican machine that decided to look in every nook and cranny during their White Water investigation --bringing up things that had nothing to do with the investigation would swing into action. Goodness---they might discover she stole a chocolate bar when she was 8.
There are other woman Hillary can support

Hi femme...
The truly sad thing, IMO, is that Hillary is the only woman on the horizon that anyone even considers when talking about potential candidates for president.
I'd love to have an admirable woman to vote for. For me, that sure wouldn't be Hillary, and it wasn't Dole...but, I keep hoping.
We're about to have a Mass. Governor give birth to twins...in office. Should be interesting...

At the risk of getting hammered for being un-PC, IMO, the truly sad thing is that some would be willing to consider any woman as a potential candidate solely on the basis of their sex, with no regard given to the positions on which they are willing to take a stand.
But that's just me...

Let's just hope the first one aint named Christie Todd...
That would seal the fate for all the women who follow...LOL
You are right though, there are no woman "politically" right now who are qualified.
But then again, there aint no man qualified either...LMAO

Ha...Pocono...isn't it the truth?
mrpotatoheadd...
I don't think there's anyone here like that. I keep hoping for a qualified woman...whose positions I can even mostly agree with. Can you recommend one? I can't think of even one. I'm harder to please than most, I admit.
Considering women are the majority here...it's fairly horrifying to consider the state of party politics in this country.

Sorry to say, I can't. But that doesn't mean that none are out there, just that I'm not well enough informed in order to offer a suggestion.
For my money, it seems the farther up the ladder in politics you go, the slimier the candidates become (male or female). I know that's a generalization, but still...

I live in Massachusetts, mrP...the home of slimy politics...it's taught me much. I haven't been shocked in years...hey...Teddy is continually re-elected. **shudder**
Oddly enough...given that I voted Libertarian in the last election...the last pol I thought spoke the truth (as he knew it) was Paul Tsongas. Now, if I like them, I'm afraid they might be doomed.

I know how you feel, but I refuse to give in to the "A vote for any candidate other than the Republican or Democratic candidate is a wasted vote." attitude. For the life of me, I can't figure why people insist that your vote is wasted if your candidate doesn't look like he (or she) will win.
I will continue to vote for somebody rather than against somebody, even if it means that I never back a successful candidate for as long as I live.

You bet. I'm not giving away my vote to anyone...especially some fat-butted party that says I must...or otherwise my vote is trash.
The saddest thing is...people buy it. Which is exactly how those parties manage to stay in power.

Mr. P
Not looking for just any woman candidate. She must possess the qualities I'm looking for in a leader, whether it be a man or woman.
I would not have voted for Elizabeth Dole, for instance. Nor would I vote for Christie Todd Whitman.
I would have voted for Hillary.

I am still waiting for someone to explain to me exactly what Elizabeth Dole was doing campaigning for the Presidency. She had zero qualifications for the job, zero experience. Admittedly, she seems like she'd be a great hostess at a party, I'll give her that. But it stops right there.
As for Hillary's "never" ... isn't there an old saying about how it's a woman's prerogative to change her mind?

Oh Spaz...
What gives any of them the audacity to run? Massive ambition, maybe? Ego beyond our wildest imaginings? Whatever it is...it is rarely validated by substance. Witness the last two that managed to get themselves elected.
This tells me Hillary is sure to run. What a Clinton says, has little to do with...well...anything at all.

Ann Richards is a great broad...a term I use affectionately.
Not verbatim, but, remember this?...
Poor George. He can't help it. He was born with a silver foot in his mouth.
Her delivery was perfect.
