Hi,
I have posted here about a month ago about things kids can do over summer break. My kids will be out in less than two weeks.

Many of you liked the idea of sending a post card and the girsl would keep a notebook by states of all the postcards they receive.

Well they are ready. We have set up an email address - [email protected]
If you email them one of them will answer your email with the address for you send the postcard to. If you would like to receive a postcard from Denver, CO just let them know your mailing address.

Thanks,
Patti, Savannah & Shianne

Hi RichieRich What wonderful girls you have. I have sent 2 emails and they have been extremely polite and prompt with each one. They are a credit to you.

I will pass on the address to other family members in different states of Australia as well. Good Luck.

Nettak

Thank you.

Because they are new at this and they are children. I do supervise what they do.

They are in bed now. But they did have to do one more check before they went. That is when Savannah seen your second email.

They have the post cards picked out for your niece and I will write them out tomorrow after school. Tuesday is my post office day so they will get mailed then.

They are excited about getting mail from Australia. (So am I!)

Thanks and have a great day!
Patti

This should be a lovely experience for all the children, my niece included.

I did realise that you must have been supervising them, but I still say they are very polite, and it shows that they are being taught manners, which is always nice to see.

Any suggestions where else I can post this request?

I pretty much live at ebay (my ebay page) and AW.

I am not a real web surfer. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Patti

I can see this easily turning into an Internet urban legend! A friendly suggestion: Perhaps you should set an END DATE to your request, or you may be inundated with responses for years to come!

Good idea to set an end date. This is a summer project. The end date is August 31, 2001 as they go back to school September 12th.

Virginia e-mail has been sent.

What fun!

And years from now your daughters can make a fortune by auctioning the cards on eBay!

We received postcard #2 already from Rochester, MI. Thanks a bunch.

The plan is to put the cards in a 3 ring binder by state, by city. I thought of using the plastic protective sheets that have the 3 holes punched on the side and the top edge open to slide your paper in. Only we would slide the postcard in put a little tape on it so we could put 2 or 3 in a sleeve. Does anyone know where I can get the protect sheets cheap?

Or does anyone have any other ideas on how kids could organize them?

ALL ideas are welcome!

Thanks again everyone!

Don't know about the protectors. But if you get overwhelmed with them I would put some in a plastic card file like you get at the office supply. I am surprised my card from Rochester was #2. It was a couple days before I had time to stop in the library gift shop and buy some. Hope ya get tons.

I am not worried about being overwhelmed the kids have only recieved emails from about 6 different people so far.

Any suggestions on where else we can post this project would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I mailed four postcards from Lexington, Virginia, to the girls this morning.

This is such a nifty project - I hope more people get on board and send cards to them. It's still early so maybe more AWers will spread the word!

You could probably get a huge response on the usenet but I would not put my street address out there for every nutto in the world to see. I will ask a few of my e-mail list people to send a card.

gravid,
So far we have only received 2, Texas and yours.

But more are on the way. The kids check the email address several times a day and are getting bummed. I keep telling them they will come, they will come.

Again, please feel free to have your friends and relatives email them at [email protected] for the mailing address for the post cards.

Thanks again!

Hi Patti, my niece received her card. Thank you. If the girls' have not received theirs yet from us they can not be too far away, because I sent them only a day or so after you would have posted my niece's. I am asking others from all over the place to send them cards.

Nettak,
Thanks you have been a great help!

Your niece should be receiving another card. Each of them sent her one. We also will send her one when we go to Las Vegas and another later this summer when we go to Chicago.

So far we have received the 2 previously mentioned cards.

Should be receiving my card anyday now. When I find a decent florida one, will send that one on too. I have received my card of downtown Denver. Actually, the company that I work for has an office in Highlands Ranch.
