GW, defending his budgetary priorities during the campaign last fall:

"It's clearly a budget. It's got a lot of numbers in it."

We've been in the wilds for 5 weeks, barely heard the great news about Jeffords, and are now back in civilization to follow the fun in D.C. --Roadsmith

Dumbya's in Europe, getting Rheamed in France about now. Europe isn't very happy with the poor guy.

HHe spent a week at dayschool learning to get along in Europe but promptly insulted the Spanish Prime Minister (or something) by messin up his name by reversing consonants.

Uh oh. He's not going to France (no cathedral at Rheams), or England, or Germany. Apparently avoiding confrontation.

Here's his missed name: http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/world/europe/newsid_1383000/1383385.stm

"It is a great honour to travel to Spain and visit the King and also Prime Minister Anzar. But I have to practise the very pretty language, and unless I practise I am going to destroy this language," he said in a Spanish TV interview broadcast on Monday.

That cracked me up.

Practicing the English language hasn't helped him master it.
