I am candlelady on ePier (or I used to be untill I was blocked and banned by them with NO warning or explanation). I can NOT access my auctions or leave feedback to some of my wonderful customers..I had a 169 feedack..NO negatives).<P>
I was one of their biggest advocates....even paid when they introduced that pathetic and usless VM $20.00 Fee...as I thought this would offer some protection against NPB and abusers of auction sites. The biggest abuser is ePier. I was banned along with a fellow member (who gave countless hours to promote their site, with NO thanks). They proclaim "No Big Brother"..that is a Lie! They proclaim NO FEES EVER...That is a lie!<P>
I am disgusted that I was so duped......!!

Many of us are also disgusted and angry by their lies, but mostly we're disappointed, to put so much effort and work into a site, doing everything possible to attract new buyers & make ePier the best site online, only to be out and out betrayed.
I'll be *very* wary when it comes to building up another small auction site, that's for sure.

You also gave so much advice and guidance to fellow ePier members via the General Chat Board (that they have now shut down for the second time), blocking members from contact with each other (NO BIG BROTHER???...what a joke!). You answered questions that were IGNORED by ePier support for so long........as did Goldenpony (who was banned along with me). I have received NO explanation or anything from them about my "INSTANT" ban, and have filed FRAUD charges against them to get back my VM Fee (even if it is only $20). It is on principle right now. If they are blocking me from signing in and accessing my auctions they have to answer for that. I think that ePier is despicable and warn others to NOT go there! You will find LIES and no response!

Wow, I am glad I cancelled my auctions the other day. I have always had an uneasy feeling about epier, I just had a few auctions listed there. I think this speaks volumes for the site. I am sure they are on the way down the tubes, very soon.

Beware of ePier auctions,
They will suck you in with quotes of "Free" BUT then zap you overnight...NO warning!! with perhaps Image Hosting Fees? They now have FVF Fees...geesh! (The site that said NO Fees Ever!!) You are supposed to pay $20 to be verified (for what???). You now need to raise your listing price to cover that! AND NO Buyers to speak of except the ones I bought there (who have since left..check the Homepage..BIG Drop)..people are leaving like rats leaving a sinking ship. Guess they were sick of the LIES also! Which is why I was banned.....I was quoting facts!

Well since the talking about the boards is taboo....there's plenty of others areas to mention!
One of them is the paymadeeasy plan that was mentioned last month as being a week away from opening...that after many months prior being told it was almost ready. Well, where is it? That was one of the master plans to keep the site fee free! Maybe their lack of alerting users of happenings and always throwing those surprises in changed polocies at us not to mention trying to sweep the facts under the carpet without so much as a simple explanation have rocked the boat for the final time! I see a storm a brewing and it's going to be a biggie!
I'm also checking out cityauction...they look pretty good on the surface. Anybody got experience with them?

Not yet GP, but I will certainly check them out as ePier is a DEAD DUCK! LIES AND DECEIT happen to make me mad!!!!
Seems others are seeing ePier for what they are......LIARS! I am getting a lot of emails from my customers who will go where I go!...and that is far away from ePier!

PAYMADEEASY....from a site with NO security??? I do not think too many people who have half a brain would go for that! I wouldn't give ePier the time of day right now let alone my Credit Card Number!
I have to say to people that may read this and think that I am just a disgruntled person....NO WAY! I joined ePier in January of 2001 and have been an advocate for them....BUT I have been around long enough to see a pattern of LIES and DECEIT!
I was looking for a Fee Free site (of course that was how they sucked me in).....I bought many decent folks to the site, Buyers and Sellers....but over the past few months they have become the most despicable site I ever had the misfortune to sign up for...........Trust me please!
I am beecandles001 on ebay with over 700 plus feedback...do NOT give this ePier site the time of day!

Hindsight they say is 20/20....it's not a wonder why they removed all access to users access like eBay did. I know a lot of people assume the upset is over flaming posts but that is as far from the truth as it can get!
Keeping users in the dark...changing their user agreements AFTER they join and silently posting new ones as they see fit....making NEW rules AFTER implimenting them....offering NO explanations for anything...including the holding of hostage active auctions that have ability to close with bids and generate FVF without the owner having any way to conclude, edit, or even end auctions that are on auto relist that will cycle over and over again till sold! This is WRONG! I only wish people assuming to know the facts will LOOK at them all. These are not heated words being said out of just anger...they are the TRUTH about a site that I loved! I have a perfect 227 rating over there and have done well...I will just NOT stand for being lied to and asked for money! I paid already and got NOTHING...I'll not pay another cent to a place that will not be accountable for my funds!

I also want to add that I and Goldenpony had many CHARITY AUCTIONS listed that are now BLOCKED....so ePier is preventing us from donating to worthy causes. Despicable!

ePier are changing their Homepage as I breathe....GONE are the number of "hits" per day, # of Shopkeepers (as it has DROPPED so much).
What you now have is "Our Top Sellers".....Stamps and Hot Wheels....WOW!

I dont post here often...heck I forgot my User ID and PW its been so long! Hehe! But as someone who followed the events leading up to this problem at EPIER I have to say what Goldenpony and Candlelady are saying is accurate. This is just bad Business Practice from EPIER. These 2 were VERIFIED members who took a further risk for EPIER and sent $20 to help them with expenses associated with the rapid growth they were experiencing at the time. Aside from getting a 'decent' looking Icon for their verified status (which was recently removed for all verified members) nothing else was given to them. This status level didnt even speak enough to warrant a Warning be issued out to indicate borderline account suspension. Thats total lack of respect to 2 senior members with an outstanding sales record (no negative feedbacks!) plus Goldenpony has created a site especially devoted to EPIER members showing her appreciation of her good experiences to that point as a member. This is so unbelievable.

I am yet another seller on ePier who won't be listing there anymore. I strictly do charity auctions for Brittany rescue and have been witness to all of these happenings. Candlelady and goldenpony have done much to promote epier and make it a better place. Epier kept the gold mine and gave them the shaft! They still have the nerve to run their "No fees - EVER" banner along with the "No big brother" bullcrap. I am looking for a way to cancel the remaining auctions I have there and will now be listing on bidville, which is still a free site. If I had known epier was going to start having a FVF I wouldn't have listed there because my items are low-priced and 100% of the sale goes to charity. Candlelady and Goldenpony have given much of themselves to help my cause and many others. What epier has done is a disgrace and I believe all who have seen this happen will leave. Both you ladies are loved and respected members of the auction community and I'm behind you all the way!

I understand and agree with everyone when a site we all help make, comes down and turns their back on us. I am currently in the process of seeking out other auction sites. Ebay is way to expensive, and I have really only been listing on eDeal, Auctionweiser, Haggle, and Lycos.
The other sites like Bidville, ePier, and SYI, all have changed their minds in regards to us, the members that made them. They think that they are so big, that they can ignore us, and change the rules for any reason that they can.
I have been with eDeal for about 1.5 years, and they never changed any of their fees or services.
Been will Auctionweiser and Haggle for just under a year, and haven't seen any rate changes, and they respond to my e-mails.
Lycos has good and bad factors. The good ones is that the service works, the bad part is that they are run by FairMarket.
Everybody has to make up their minds and see what they want to do. Support sites that don;t care about them, or move on to sites that do care about the customer, and don;t make drastic changes whenever they please.

I'm not gonna offer any rah-rahs. Most Epier people know I don't say much unless and until provoked. I do want to report this, however: I accessed a site that does reverse look-ups of phone numbers. I punched in Epier's phone number and guess what popped out?

Very strange! The address is the correct address as listed on Epier's home page. I wonder if the site owner has his hands in a few businesses all located in the one office. After all, if you telephone there, they often say "Hello" instead of "Epier." Or could it be that the owner used to be a fashion model?

I am checking out a few also, just think we all would like one thing.....low fees, respect, honesty and integrity, and changes made responsibly and ethically (that does NOT exist at ePier!)...Good Luck to you and keep us posted!

It is unfortunate that it came to this but Greed and Stupidity reared it's ugly head at ePier and now they can pay the piper.

I am so sorry this has happened to you. ePier should really be ashamed of their actions.
I was thrilled to find ePier when I started listing there late last winter. Unfortunately sales weren't too keen but I was definately willing to keep trying. For a while I wasn't running any auctions but when I did put more up there I saw things hadn't changed for the better.
I felt truly 'betrayed' when they sprung the verified membership on sellers of militaria items overnight. And I specifically remember Mr. Kim stating that FVFs were not an option when asked about them in the meeting that followed. I also remember quite a bit of double-talk. Oops, maybe I shouldn't be saying this as it could be construed as discussing another message board.
Anyway, back to the subject at hand--it's getting downright aggravating that everywhere you turn in this industry are people just seemingly waiting to kick you in the teeth as soon as they get the chance. I've nearly lost my enthusiasm for auctions lately.

You did so much for ePier, you worked hard for the fated "Crazy Dayz Sale", I remember that. Yes they lied to us all and that is awful as none of us have the time or inclination to be a "PR" for any auction site...especially one that kicks you in the face after all your hard work! I want to thank you Wallypog for all you tried to do to promote ePier when we were all so gullible as to believe that they cared...WRONG!!!!

This is what I have found over at sellyouritem.com (in case anyone who is lurking doesn't know what SYI is ):
While traffic is not all that great, there are hits to the pages and sales being made.
I have made a few sales under my other ID. (this ID has items that are tough to sell even at ebay. Been there for 4 years and only have a feedback of around 270 - this is not my ID at ebay)
The customer service is 2nd to none. Any emails that I have sent, have been responded to in a professional manner and addressed the question at hand. I have never received an auto respond email. The most I ever waited for a response was 7 hours.
Any of the sites I'm interested in listing at, I test support to see what type and how long I wait for a response.
Currently, their bid rate is almost double of any of the other 2nd tier sites.
Based on the posts to the lounges and the announcements board, the management and staff seem willing to work with the users. I don't see the ranting and raving about problems on the boards there, that I see at other sites. I also don't see only rah rah posts either.
The site is very easy to list on and has a few neat features. Unfortunately, image hosting is not one of them, but I use my ISP, so it's not a problem for me.
To anyone who is interested in listing at an alternative site, I would recommend posting to their boards, or at the least lurk to see what the atmosphere is, send an email or 2 to support and READ the user agreement AND privacy policy of the site.
If the boards are all sunshine and roses, I would really wonder about what is going on. There is always someone having a bad day and it is not unusual for a vent to be made at MOST sites.
Just my nickel's worth.
