I can't get anything to pull up. I was in the middle of some editing and now I get a website not responding. Anyone else?

It's working now on my computer. Sometimes BV will go down for 5 minutes or so then get straightened out.

What does it matter? It's not as if you might have missed any bids.

Thanks eseller, I said I WAS EDITING. I am just not the big powerseller that you are over at bargain and haggle & epier. ROTFLMAO

After leaving here, they were back up and now are down again.

deichen,

Meant no disrespect. Just pointing out that Bidville is a big waste of time from my experience. I don't know, maybe you're having success at Bidville. Care to share how many items you've sold at Bidville and the amount of revenue generated? Not trying to be snide, just wondering if anyone is having any success at Bidville. Wouldn't your time better be spent listing at a site with no listing fees, good sell-through, moderate FVFs, and continous advertising, like BargainandHaggle or maybe Carnaby in another year? Gives you a much better chance to move inventory at good prices, unless that's not your goal.

And no I'm no powerseller. Far from it!

LOL Deichen!

I seriously doubt anyone's sales are robust at the moment considering the events of last Tuesday.

BV is down at the moment.

Interesting that the sales *may* be off (no evidence to suggest that since there's been no Bidville sell-through report for weeks ending September 5 and September 12), but the increase in listings continues unabated.

Well, bidville is down, so what the heck! I added up my invoices. The totals do not include shipping, but do include fees such as paypal, some yahoo listing and ebay fees.

Total sales for the 2001 year:
$1226.59

Breakdown:

BidVille:
$656.51
Waiting on another $47.00

Yahoo: (Mostly before listing fees, couple after)
$350.15

Bid***:
$86.95

Ebay:
$69.98

Epier:
$63.00

I did my best at Yahoo before fees, but sales dropped dramatically when they started the new structure. The Ebay items that I sold, a couple of them, I had hoped for more bids and I barely broke even on them. I have always had lots of deadbeats with any site (even ebay). These numbers are down by about 2/3 from several years previous.

Dimview
My sell-thru rate is crappy and usually is at any site I sell at, so I do not much care what bidville's is.

deichen,

you mention you have a high deadbeat rate. May I ask what area you sell in?

Is it the type of items you sell, or just bad luck?

Collectibles, mostly. Probably the items, they are plentiful and can be bought cheaper if you look enough. Bad Luck? Maybe! But I am alive, so I am feeling Lucky this week!

Several hundred thousand no- and low-interest items. 30-day auctions. 99 relists. Bogged down servers?

I noticed that in addition to ePier and Bidville, Onlineauction.com was also down. Do these sites all share the same cheap server or something???

deichen,

You've had reasonable success on Bidville. Much better than I have. To be able to sell anything at all on Bidville is QUITE A FEAT!! You should be commended for having some success on that pathetic site! I've made 1 stinking sale on Bidville in 6 months and I offer the exact same items there as I offer on eBay or BargainandHaggle or Yahoo. My items sell very well all over the place except for on Bidville, ePier and these rinky-dink free sites that can't afford to advertise.

I don't know what kind of collectibles you sell, but have you tried to get your hands on licensed collectibles? If you can get them at wholesale or below wholesale (and you can just by searching the Web!) you can make real nice money! There are products manufacturers are trying to dump that still sell great on places like eBay. Keep searching and you're bound to find all kinds of things to sell. I find new things on the Web almost every week that I never knew existed. Good luck!

I had trouble earlier today and I just noticed it is down again. It does get frustrating especially when you are trying to list auctions. Hillbilly

FYI - We have had 2 users with similar names, one is buzzoon and one is buzoon. This is the reason we sometime ask Users to pick new names as the similarities can cause confusion.
