Their privacy policy leaves a lot to be desired:
Quoted from the privacy link at UpperBid.com:
"To elaborate: All exchanges between you and UpperBid.com will remain confidential with no personally identifiable information being sold or provided to any third party. The only exception to this is if you have arrived at our site through a link from a participating rewards or incentive program in which we must provide them with your email or other information in order to help them identify your active particiption at our sites by matching it up with their membership records so they can give you your cash, points or other incentives.[b]
This includes:
IP addresses and other information (browser, platform, referral URL etc.) contained in web server logs
E-mail addresses contained in messages sent to us.
Credit card or other financial information.
Names, addresses, telephone numbers, etc.
UpperBid.com contains links to other sites. UpperBid.com is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites."
1) Why would they need to give my CC info to the administration of an affiliate program?
2) Why do they have links on their site that may or may not have the same level of thinking in the way of protecting privacy?

Toollady-- far too few netizens ever bother to read privacy policies and user agreements. I make it a policy to not only read them, but to read them *often* since many quietly get changed without notice or notification.
Thanks for the heads up, looks like UpperBid is yet another to avoid.

Auctionboss,
I do not see where I have even commented on epier. B**B**, gegy, and a few others are on my stay away from list for sure. I personally do not care for sites who have management who treats their users like imbeciles.
As far as upperbid goes, I had never heard of them. Any new site I hear of, I check their user agreement and privacy policy before I even look around.
There are a few auction sites out there that I do like for various reasons. Are any of them without their faults? No. Is there room for improvement? Always.
However, when a user agreement or a privacy policy looks as the one above does, I don't even bother to register.
