Check out Half.com, they now have an everything else category, you can list just about anything, (toys, etc...) even upload your own photo. Has anyone tried this? The sell your item form looks pretty simple, I will have to get a few things on there to see how it goes.

I check half.com regularly throughout the day for sales that I don't have email confirmation for yet... its just one part of my regular checking on my auctions.
The email problems are more than just email confirmations of sales - they also don't let you know when questions have been asked of your by buyers.
That's why I think all half.com sellers need to check their accounts themselves regularly and NOT rely on half.com to notify you of anything.

I have sold over $3600.00 worth of items ( I do not sell books) on half since I started selling there in Nov 2000. The "everything else" option is very easy to use and you can list almost anything you wish. The one downside is the email notification (it stinks). I check my account at least once a day to see what is sold..
