I think they promote their site a lot thru their opt-in lists.
Also, they prohibit off site links or popups to be put in listings - it seems rather restrictive.
BUT the big deal is it's a buffet plan! All you can list for $2.50 a month. No separate listing fees, FVF, etc. And, if you don't have anything listed for a full month, they stop billing and pick back up again when you list items again.
I would like to know if anyone has any experience with Bay9 and if they have any opinions or facts for or against the venue.
Find them at http://www.bay9.com/auctions/
(I am not affiliated with Bay9 - I have an account but have never listed or bidded yet.)

Very poor auctionsite, categories are littered with "my wife almost divorced me" CDs, vacation package coupons, earrings, etc. Anyway, I last looked at Bay9 auctions months ago, and find no improvement five months later.

I think the site design is bad myself. The listing pages, IMO, are a bad attempt to copy the style of Yahoo.
Just to sign up, there are checkboxes (which must be unchecked, in many cases) for several optin mailing lists (both their own, and others that it appears they are paid to promote).
I also think on a site like theirs, the 20% FVF is probably a better deal than $2.50 a month, but when you have such a small site, it is probably easier to keep track of, and probably results in lower fees for the few sellers that seem to list a lot (and, I hope, sell some of it).
Really I think this site would only be a good deal if a seller had a large consistent inventory of items that fit into certain categories. I don't - so I don't think it's a good deal for me.
However, if there is someone who has a lot of inventory that would fit nicely into one of their categories, and is looking for a "warehouse" to put things that don't move on other venues, then I could see the possibility of using this venue.
I want to mention how much I appreciate your stats, dimview - they give me a much clearer overall picture of how business at various auction venues.

No chance I would waste my time with them...and certainly not pay any money...just a big dumping yard from what I can tell...another one bites the dust!
