Anyone check the latest (Nov.) issue of Ebay Magazine? There is a glowing article about PayPal in there and they quote the CEO of X.com. According to the article, their secret to their success is: Make it "free",
make it emailed based, and make money on the float. Anyone care to inform the CEO of the changes at PayPal????? No wonder they dont have a clue if even their CEO doesnt know whats going on! They even quote a Power Seller as saying how great it is because its free to the seller! OK Damon, if a Power Seller doesnt have to pay, why do I?? This is just another example of the habitual lying by PayPal. Now I'll have to explain all over again to my buyers that the article and the CEO are wrong and that there truly is a charge to sellers. I have emailed Ebay Magazine and asked them to print a correction in the next issue - lets hope they do. The article also mentions that after 8 months in business, PP collects over $5 million a day to make money on the float and that doesnt even count the money left in the account. I would like to email the CEO
the same email I got from PayPal. Then at least he might know whats going on. I guess we cant expect Damon to know anything if his
boss doesnt!

There is an amazing lag time in the production of most magazines.
In this case, the article says Paypal has been around for 8 months. Paypal was started in October. So, even though this appears in the November issue, it appears that the article itself was written in June.
So, even though these statements might have never been true, they were at least consistent with Paypal's "company line" at that time.

Actually, the article quoted the $5 million
figure as what PP was taking in after 8 months but it also mentioned that they were
in business 1 year so it can't be that far behind. I guess my main concern was that a lot of people have been saying its not PP fault because the "free" was their idea but now that X.com has taken over, things have changed. Well, this was the CEO of X.com that they interviewed and he was still talking about "free". Even if this article was written in June, I can't believe PP didnt know at that time that they were going to be changing things. I think its just another line of bull. They didnt suddenly stop losing money in a couple of months. I've been reading some of the other posts about freezing accounts, the double charge of
$.25 plus 1.9% on the whole amount, etc, etc.
This company is so out of control its scary.
PPDamon has even started to sound more like a robot, spewing memorized lines that dont answer the concerns. I realize he doesnt have the power to make changes, but I dont really feel that any concerns are even being
passed along. Or maybe they are and PP just
doesn't care. Either way, just confirms my decision to close my account.

If Powersellers get it free, I'd sure like a refund. I am a Powerseller and I haven't received any notice of any freebies from PayHell.
