Hi all - Lately my customers have been paying with PayPal like crazy, bless 'em. I've been watching my counter and checking the occasional transaction, but it's pretty obvious that they are almost all using a credit card. I've thought about asking them to pay me off an existing balance but I figure they would if they had one, so why confuse them.

Meanwhile, absolutely no business via PayDirect (not even from Yahoo customers) or ExchangePath. I guess as long as I say I take PayPal, people will pay me that way. At this rate it won't last long, though.

At least you're actually getting the payments. I've had three customers email me to say they "paid" by PayPal. I'm still waiting on two payments, after receiving no response to my request that they check their PayPal accounts to be sure the payment was made and is showing as claimed. The third buyer found that no payment had been made and corrected the error.

This is true only if PayPal is being honest with the counter, and given their recent track record, who knows?

Since I quit promoting PP in my auctions about 2 weeks ago and have stopped mentioning it in my EOA e-mails, I have had only 2 people ask if they could pay by PP. One did from their existing balance at PP and the other switched to ExchangePath when I explained what was happening. My PP limit still stands at $500. Total auctions paid by ExchangePath now stand at 13. BTW, the person that signed up for EP got a $10 bonus (bonus for signing up is ending this coming Wednesday) and I received a $5 referral (the referral program is still alive with no end date stated yet).

BigBux - I am confused about the EP sign-up bonus. My account stands at $0 and I was assuming you'd only get the bonus after someone paid you via EP or something. Is that not true? Should I email them right away to ask where is my $10?

thanks -

You are basically correct, I think. Assuming you have registered a CC with EP, you then need to execute some sort of transaction like paying or being paid or making one successful referral. I received my $10 immediately after someone paid for an auction with EP.

Try this trick to get your $10 bonus. Using a credit card send $5.00 to an email address that isn't registered with ExchangePath, then cancel the transaction. Making that transaction and canceling it still gets your CC# on record with them and that's all you need for them to credit your account with $10. The clock is ticking, 10/24 is the last day they will offer the signup bonus.

Hi - I guess that means that even though I am already signed up, if I get my first transaction after 10/24, they won't credit me the $10, huh?

Due to a bug in EP, a lot of bonuses were never paid. If you pester them enough, they will send you $5 or $10. I have easily sent out 50 referrals from their site. The first week of September that I did it, 10 people signed up and I get $50. If I am to believe them, not one person signed up from my invitation in the next three weeks. I know for a fact this is not the case. I emailed them a few times and they put $5 in my account. But I would have used them anyway because they are free, unlike Payfoe, so I cant complain.

I signed up and my first transaction was from someone I refered. Upon their payment, I immediately received $15 ! Just remember you must have a credit card registered, refer that person via ExchangePath link referal e-mail, and have them pay you. They will receive $10, you receive $15. That's $10 for signing up and $5 for the referal!
I truly think ExchangePath will send Paypal a few rungs down the ladder. Any company without ethics generally only lasts for so long. I will continue to use Paypal until most of my customers have switched to the other services as they are already leading that way on their own. About 80% of my customers are chosing to pay by money order. I have had no influenance in their choice whatsoever. In fact, I offer them 4 different payment company choices (EP, PP, BP, BPay,) I really think they do not want to be charged fees either.
