hey again
when i create my auctions i will be asked from the smpro to enter a shippingrate, but since i tell my customers i will enter the shipping rate in my winning bidder notification i cant enter a shippingrate because i dont know where the parcel goes. also i cant put 00.00$ because i will charge them at the end.
please help me out on this one and i hope u dont get bored with me. i wanted to launch today, but now i have to wait until next week end and set this page up first.
thx natasha and team

Natasha, you can use the calculate shipping method. This will allow you to enter in the product dimiensions and weight. When you send the WBN, the shipping price will get calculated based on the buyers zip code.
Feel free to add a handling fee at the bottom of your description or even in the global preferences "shipping" section to cover any discrepancies and handling charges.

Hi, I also have had the same concern for a long time now. Why do we have to put anything in there? It just doesn't make sense to me. I state my shipping is calculated at auction end based on destination zip and weight after packing! To put a weight in there would not be accurate because I do not weigh my item until after I pack it and then it depends on what I will use for packing, double boxing etc. If I put the weight of the item before packing, people send postage for the pre-packing weight - then you have to email them to say it is not enough. Also, adding a handling fee is not an option since I only charge actual shipping fees. Because of this, at times I get stuck paying for the extra postage. I like to wait to pack until the auction is almost over. This way if anyone has a question about the item, I don't have to unpack it to look at it. Any chance of just having the shipping options without forcing us to put a rate or weight in there? That would be nice!!

hey angela
Just uncheck the box to sent the WBN
automatically as well as the Vendio checkout button, then you can list
without choosing a carrier or entering an amount to be selected from.
If you go to the My Account tab online and click on the Post Sale link
found within, you can turn these two options off ( aswell the yellow prefered checkout which appears on ur auction page after the auction is closed---i guess)as a default so you
dont have to uncheck them each time.

Yes that is true, but you should be able to send a WBN without having to put a figure (weight or postage) in there. In fact in my WBN I say to send me the shipping info so that I can calculate the postage. If you have it unchecked then you have to send it manually for every auction won. This has been like this for a long time, it seems to me you should have the option whether to use that field or not.

I'll see what we can do about adding in the functionality for you guys. It seems to me that it's a checking system and it's in there by design so that users don't mistakenly leave it blank.
It's a gray area to get the services fully robust and yet not too overwhelming for the beginner users. : )
Best Regards,
Thanks for taking the time to check it out! I've been using Vendio since way back when. So far, the auto WBN (postage/weight) issue is really the only thing to me that puts a "fly in the ointment" (shhh, that doesn't reveal my age does it?) I like using SMP as compared to other auction services that do not offer a way to list auctions offline. It is such a convenience, especially to have everything integrated (image hosting)!! To be honest I have never used any other service! I still consider myself a beginner, since I only list occasionally, but now that I am retired will be doing it more! Your SMP made it easy for me to learn to do eBay without jumping all over the place!
By the way, I am the one that just inquired about the font thing in Customer Manager. Still cannot get it to work for me. Do you have to pick a "style" first. I never pick anything for that box.
