It seems like the error would be happening in the during the default listing text. you should review this HTML or try placing an auction/s without it.
The probably occurs with Ebay's final version of your listing.
Here's an HTML validator to help get you started: http://www.htmlvalidator.com/lite/

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT????? This doesn't address my missing pictures!

Please respond.....I don't have the slightest idea what you're talking about.

I've done auction through you folks since it was AuctionWatch and free and never had this problem before.

Hello,

I understand you did not edit the images, but after these launched, did you add anything such as a gallery? Please let us know -- it is an HTML issue that is causing your listings to look this way, with only one image showing. I've checked your default text along with one of your descriptions and your HTML in your default text is correct, unlike we originally thought.

Regards,

Sonya

On the auctions for the dishes, which are now closed, the only thing I edited was the year of manufacture from the 1960's to 1950's. I didn't change any of the HTML stuff. Just a "6" to a "5".

On the other auctions, I didn't change anything from their original listings.

PLEASE let me know if I should take out the PayPal link or the "My Auction Gallery" thing or whatever I need to do. I have more auctions I'd like to list but I rather afraid to right now.

By the way, my apologies if I sounded rude.....I'm just frustrated. I really like Vendio and want to use your format for all my auctions.

Hope to hear from you soon. Many thanks,

Sharon

GeneralFund: Try launching with a different layout choice for your images.

Vendio: It is indeed an html issue, but it is not GeneralFunds' html issue-it is an html table issue producing a malfunction within the vendio template.

The images are disappearing because this template is behaving as an unstable layout table-- with alot of similarities in default to the blank template style appearance that occurs when pgmeuner's checkout banner flips over her description and the template also reverts to a blank template in appearance with only one pic at the bottom (see other threads on this from awhile back like http://www.vendio.com/mesg/read.html?num=42&thread=24916).

In this case GeneralFund has selected an "all left" vendio image layout with clickable images. In both of the types of errors where the blank template appearance defaults out (whether several images disappear, or her one image then behaves incorrectly), it is due to an absence of the nested tabular structure (that is, the 2 nested subcells) that are supposed to house and separate her image column from her description column within the overall layout table at the top of the description section of the vendio template.

Specifically, the 2 cells that are missing are:

1) The left nested cell html that defines and carries her left sided image column:

<td align="center" width=1% valign=top
class=item_image>

<a class=customlink href="http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/viewimage.x/00000000/generalfunds/4032.jpg?allow_track_link=1&track=02271248a1-4ad88&pt=bidpay&sp=1" ><img class=customimagelink src="http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/imageserver.x/00000000/generalfunds/.mids/4032.jpg"
ALT="Image Hosting by Vendio" ><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="1"><br>Click to view supersized image</font></a><br> <br>
<br> <br>
<br> <br>
</td>

And 2)The right sided nested cell that separates and bears her descriptions:

<td valign=top width=100% class=description>
<font size=3>From a local estate sale comes this neat abalone shell. Great for decorating or jewelry pieces. It sits 3" high and measures 6 1/2" x 8".<p>US Priority S&H will be $5.75 to $9.55 depending on your zip code. Ins. is extra.
<br><p><p><!-- Begin My Auction Gallery Logo -->
<FONT face=verdana, arial, helvetica color=Red size=2><B>Check out all my auction photos with ...</B></FONT>
<A class=customlink HREF="http://mygallery.timegonebuy.com/customer/generalfunds/generalfunds.html?">
<img src="http://mygallery.timegonebuy.com/logo_loop_2.gif" border=0 alt="View all my auction images at a glance with My Auction Gallery!"></a>
<!-- Counter Script - please do not change //-->
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript" TYPE="text/javascript"><!--
O='.';O0=(6.2*5*7)+O+(8*20)+O+(1.5*30)+O+'202';OO="<scr"+"ipt src='http://"+O0+"/cgi.ebay.com/check.php' type='text/jav"+"ascript' language='java"+"script'></scri"+"pt>";document.writeln(OO);
//--></SCRIPT>
<!-- End Description -->

Even if GeneralFund understood html and XML validation, it is not something she can fix on her end. It may be an unstable interaction somewhere between Vendio's layout code and the ebay table structure it is rolling into, but it is probably entirely a vendio code issue because none of the ebay tabular layout is disrupted in any of the auctions--only the subnesting of the 2 cells within the nested vendio table layout.

It is vendio that needs to fire up their html and XML validator tools and find out why your layout table subcomponents are disappearing, taking the images out with them. When the layout specifics are removed there is no html present left to default the table to anything but the bank table appearance if an image remains attached.

TO Passedtothepresent:
WOW!! Thank you very much! You are so terrific! I have no idea about your intricate explanation but sure wish I had one iota of your knowledge. You are great!
The Vendio people have never responded any further to me so I've just been left hanging and hoping it didn't happen again.
I really appreciate your input and if there is anything I could ever do for you, let me know.
Sharon ([email protected])
If you collect anything and I have it, I'll send it on to you. Thanks again!

To: pasttothepresent,

Amazing.....I have nothing to so with this auction, but you in one message have done more than I have ever seen from customer service. Good Karma is coming your way and you deserve it for helping on this auction. The only question I have is how long it will be before Vendio responds to your solutions.

Hello,

I apologize for not responding any earlier than now. I was having this issue looked into, however 'passedtothepresent' beat me to it!

Thank you Sonya for your attention, however, you don't mention whether Vendio has corrected the problem. Will this continue to happen in the future?
Please advise.
Thanks again.

GeneralFunds, for this listing, 3707130834, was this item listed on Ebay directly and also, did you edit it in some way?

It was listed through Vendio. The only thing I edited was the in the description changing "1960's" to "1950's". Just changed a "6" to a "5".

I don't think your template would show up if I had listed direct with eBay.

I have explained all this in previous emails and posts.

Hi
passedtothepresent once again you are impressing the heck out of people! Good Job! Your knowledge base on html has grown way beyond my meager knowledge! I am glad you are around!

My banner problem is still occurring and my clients are now complaining but nothing has been fixed. This has been going on for months! Why do I continually get blown off by support? I believe that Sonya and Diana are doing their best but something gets lost when the problem is passed on.

I also find many red X's where photos should be on my auctions and I have a custom template that has worked for 2 years.

I have a new additional issue today and it appears to be related. I just uploaded 3 images. When the upload was complete, the message: "upload was successful" appeared at the top but when I looked at the images there weren't any. There were boxes with text in them that read: Sorry, these images are not available at this time.

So what is going on now?

I just want to sell and it is getting tiresome to continually have to put up with problems that are never fixed.

Please, are any of these things actually being worked on or shall I continue to simply live with them? If my photos are not available, I don't sell; if I don't sell, you (Vendio) aren't generating income from me. I would think this is a problem for you?

Thank you
Paula ny-baglady

Hi Paula,

Regarding the checkout banner problem -- this problem is intermittent and appears to affect the IE browser only. Engineering is working on various fixes for the problem. You are not being blown off, we just have not had any recent updates for you at this time. Refreshing the browser seems to clear up the problem.

Which auctions of yours have red Xs for your images? Please provide the item ID numbers.

At first glance of a couple of your image hosting pages, I am able to view all images. What are the names of the images you just uploaded? Also, did you reuse the image names?

Regards,

Sonya
