On your desktop before you launch the program, right - click the SMPRO icon and go to the 'properties' menu.
In the properties menu, go to the compatibility tab and set SMPRO to run in Win98 mode, then click OK to save the change.
When finished go ahead and launch the program to see if this resolves the issue for you.

hey chris.
i tried the windows 98 compatibility mode and am having problems. when i try to open a batch or save a batch, the program just shuts off instantly. then i tried xp compatibility. i got a little farther but it still crashes. there is not particular pattern. sometimes it will open a batch. once i got 1 item listed and then it crashed. no particular pattern that i see. i have version 7.0.5 build 1428. am i doing something wrong?
If you have version 7.0.5 build 1428, you shouldn't have to run it in Compatibility mode at all, you should be able to simply run the program without that workaround now.
That build was the one we released just this morning to address a few remaining Vista specific issues, which should keep you from having to run it in Win98 mode which was working for most setups prior to this build.
If you just downloaded and installed this for the first time, you could try uninstalling it and reloading it just in case something was corrupted during the install process. Be sure to save the file to your hard drive and then install it, do not run from it's current location when you first click to download it.

Hi Chris, Does the new release resolve the problem with my ability to not error out and crash. I continue to be down on my
Vista computer when trying to upload batches or import. The major problem appears to require code changes to the algorythm in "shipping". Please advise, Chuck

Yes, the new version is to help with the crashing issues with the Vista OS specifically. Everyone runs into the crash at different locations in the app, but the unexpected crashes that only show Vista error messages afterward are what this should address.
