I have a Paypal account, but only use it to buy things.
A buyer just paid me with Paypal, and the transaction was completed because I use the same e-mail address for Paypal and Ebay.
I don't accept Paypal. I don't want to wait for a check, and don't want give Paypal my bank account info. My questions are;
If I accept this buyer's Paypal payment, can I use it to pay for things without giving Paypal any additional information (like bank account info)?
If I decide I don't want to accept his payment then is it possible for the buyer to cancel it, even though it went to the right e-mail address? If so, what do I tell him to do?
Also, has Paypal started charging to cut a check? If not, when will they?

Yes, you can use it to pay for things where Paypal is accepted. Of course you will lose charge back rights if you use your paypal balance, so be careful who you buy from, (which is a good idea even if you use a credit card.)

That's a joke. I have a buyer complaint with PayPal for over 4 weeks no response. Now they even pulled their phone number. If I would have charged it through PayPal I would have disputed it through Visa and I bet PayPal would have been on it ASAP. PayPal is a good service, but terrible customer service/support.

>>Hi yisgood,
The information you posted is incorrect---buyers can still file a claim, regardless of sourcing method. <<
Don't think so, Damon. What I said was:
"Of course you will lose charge back rights if you use your paypal balance"
Yes, buyers can file a claim with Paypal no matter how they paid, but they can only do a charge back if they used a credit card. As a buyer, I would feel protected using a credit card. I don't have much faith in paypal's protection. As numerous posts, yours included, have pointed out, buyers get nothing if the seller has emptied his account. With a credit card, buyers are still protected.
