I read many times that people don't like invasion of privacy and PayPal should not ask for personal items.
Here is a solution:
Soultion 1: Don't use the internet at all, it's full of potential invaders...
Soulution 2: Open a Damn savings account at a new bank somewhere with 5 bucks. Attach that to your account and be done with it. Next apply for a Credit Card and ask for a $250 limit, attach that to the account, now you have met the criteria of Paypal and can save some time for your auctions or sales instead of complaining in here.

Yes, just be good little drones and do as you're told. Try to forget the fact that you are the customer, and PayPal is the service you are paying for. There's no real reason they should accommodate your concerns, is there? Why should PayPal inconvenience themselves in any way when they can get you to jump through hoops of their choosing? When in doubt, just repeat this thought: PayPal is good! PayPal is good! PayPal is good! and everything will be alright.

Then use Billpoint or except only money orders or try some other service...And if you were having trouble sleeping before my post, then I would suggest moving to a more user friendly, not threatning electronic device, i.e. calculator and typewriter...Bottom Line..DONT USE PAYPAL if you don't want to...I'm happy they don't charge more but would pay it if they did, be glad they even offer that electronic service, or maybe you enjoy sending a letter/invoice to your customer waiting for them to send a check, cashing the check and waiting 7 days for it clear.. then sending the merchandise...that shouldn't take more than 3/4 of a month to complete a transaction...feel free to !!

Actually, I send an email invoice, which takes little time at all. My customers send a check, which takes maybe a week at most, at which point I send their item out (I don't hold up shipping waiting for checks to clear). Most buyers have their item less than two weeks after the auction ends, not more than 3/4 of a month. Based on the feedback I get, they are happy with the transaction, and many comment on how fast they receive their item.
Just in case it went right over your head (and apparently it did), I was being sarcastic in my previous response. But I do indeed appreciate the concern.
By the way, when do you and roofguy go on vacation. Damon has returned from his.
