Am I understanding that we are now going to be charged a percentage PLUS 30¢ for transactions under $15 instead of the previous flat fee of just 30¢? Someone on another thread said they were told by a PayPal rep on the phone that the percentage fee doesn't apply until after $15. Figured I better go to the horses mouth on this one.
If this new rate scale is true I may need to drop PayPal because Billpoint is giving me a flat fee of 35¢ on these transactions(under $15). My average transaction on ebay is $7.50. With PayPal's new fees I would be paying PayPal 47¢ versus Billpoint's 35¢
I don't do $1000 a month in credit card transactions - probably not even $300 - makes more sense for me to take Billpoint after this new fee increase!
I won't even get started on the fact that most pay me from their PayPal balance and NOT a credit card so I'm really get very little *service* for my money.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Their email announcement just gave a rate + transacation fee. That's why I'm quitting on the 13th. Would you like to join me?

Yes, I've pretty much decided after July 5th when my FLD auctions end, I probably won't be using PayPal anymore - at least I WILL NOT mention it in my auctions or EOA emails. I'd rather take my chances with Billpoint - for 12¢ less per transaction.
I sell cheap items and I'm tired of getting nickled and dimed by everyone who wants a piece of the auction action and figures they can do whatever they want to because we're desperate for the service. Basically I'm tired of laying down and taking it and trying to smile at the same time!
So Damon, here are my fees from Billpoint..
For Credit Card Transactions:
Transaction amount:
$0.01 - $15.00
Fee:
$0.35 + 0.00% (Add 1.00% for non-U.S. transactions)
You tell me who in their right mind would want to pay your company more for the same service or lack of service? Even with a possible .05% bank deposit fee on deposits over $15 I'm still coming out ahead with Billpoint anyways. And I really don't need the speech about Seller Protection either.
Someone over at PayPal better get with the program and re-adjust the fee schedule to be more appealing to the $15 and under sellers or they are going to lose a large client base. These nickles and dimes are really starting to add up guys!
