I have seen references to some sort of mass exodus from PayPal happening on the 13th, but have not seen any details. If true, that is the best news I have heard in quite some time.
PayPal really doesn't seem to give a rat's patootie about anyone who has a problem or question...only those that 'grin-n-bear' whatever comes their way.
Anyway, 7/13 is my birthday, and I couldn't imagine a nicer present! I'd be the first in line to join you, but I already severed my professional relationship with PayPal when it became apparent that they did not care too much about me or my business. To all involved in this effort, keep up the great work!

I'm dropping their logos after July 5th and WILL DO NOTHING to promote them after that date. I'm encouraging bidders to pay by check or money order or Billpoint(since they are giving me a rate I can't refuse for now).
My only complaint with PayPal is the fact that they are gouging the seller who sells items under $15.00 now. Their flat rate fee structure which has gone into effect now is just not cost effective for the small seller any longer. I can't afford to pay it and I'm not going to rob Peter(my customers) to pay Paul(PayPal) by raising auction starting bids, handling costs, etc.

I am ready to jump ship but in order for it to do good, it will take alot of us pulling out.
It seems paypal offered $10 sign up and bonus offers (later $5) to build themselves up to be #1. It worked and hasn't cost them any money in the long run. Cause now they are gouging us with fee increases regularly and are collecting back astronomically on their original investment of bonus money paid out.
I sell alot of smaller items and have figured out it is very costly if the buyer pays by paypal.
I have 50% to 75% of my buyers pay with paypal. I want to jump ship but is it going to make me lose bidders? If so, I might be hurting myself only. If jumping ship, makes Paypal realize they can't keep raising rates, then it would be worth bailing out.
Seems most buyers like to get their shipment fast and love to use Credit Cards, so this is why they love Paypal. But it benefits the buyer at our expense.
Why does Paypal charge 2.2% of shipping and insurance charges? Even the government doesn't charge sales tax on shipping and insurance charges. Paypal should exempt it too from being charged fees. When I pay fees on s&i, I am losing money, and laws say you can't charge customer cc fees. No law says Paypal can't charge us fees though on s&i charges. Doesn't make sense to me.!
I am ready to say to heck with Paypal period. They need to be shown that being #1 can change. They are too over confident and the people that made them #1 can take the title away from them just as easy. But we have to do it together, only big numbers count. How many are ready to pull out on the 13th? I am.
