Hi all,

Just an FYI.

We are pleased to inform you that you have qualified for our two-week complimentary 1.5% CASHBACK program for your PayPal Debit Card. That's right, for the next two weeks, whether you use your Debit Card to buy groceries for your July 4th barbeque or to pay for a hotel for your weekend getaway, PayPal will give you 1.5% cashback on your purchases.

Why? Simple. It's our way of thanking you for being a loyal PayPal member.

How does it work? You don't need to sign up for anything -- it's all automatic. All of your qualified purchases from July 3 - July 16 will result in 1.5% cashback being deposited real-time into your PayPal account. Purchases made online or using your PayPal Debit Card like a credit card (where you authorize your transaction with a signature instead of a PIN) qualify for cashback. For full details, you can login to your PayPal account and click on the image on your Account Overview page.

At the end of the trial period, if you decide that you like receiving money in return for using your PayPal Debit Card, you can continue to earn 1.5% cashback by signing up for the PayPal Preferred program. PayPal Preferred users pledge to make PayPal the only online payment service advertised in their eBay auctions, although their buyers are free to use any payment method they choose. Plus, in addition to 1.5% cashback, PayPal Preferred participants also receive:

Higher Debit Card Limits: Have your daily Debit Card spending limit raised from $1,000 to $3,000, and your daily ATM cash withdrawal limit raised from $300 to $400. Now you can buy all your auction inventory with your PayPal balance and receive cashback!
Chargeback Protection: The $10 chargeback fee is waived for all Preferred sellers.
Special Auction Logos: PayPal Preferred sellers can show their colors with a special gold logo for their eBay auctions.
Go on out and give your PayPal Debit Card a try today. We think you'll like getting 1.5% cashback on all your purchases -- after all, it's like cutting your regular Premier/Business account fees in half! It's just our way of thanking you for helping to make PayPal the world's #1 online payment service.

Hi Damon, VERY happy with PayPal - especially the great debit card deal. You guys even phoned me to explain it! Gotta love a company like that! Now for my dinky little problem. I got an email a few minutes ago regarding the new logo. I'm having trouble setting it up for my listings. When I complete the sign-up page it says it isn't finding any listings on eBay. What am I doing wrong? I've tried with my ebay name and password, also my email name and password, also my PayPal name and password. I'm wondering if, because I have your logo in my current listings, it will appear in new listings only. Please let me know - I think it's a great idea. Would appreciate your help. Thanks, Lucy

Personally, I find the promotion insulting. 1.9% ... so if I spend $100 I get back almost 2 cents. And what do I have to do for this wonderful deal... restrict my auction payment options to only Paypal. No more billpoint, which is easier to use, and doesn't pull the slimy games that Paypal does, and they also accept the Discover Card.

Oh, and as far as the fees go, I just looked them up again here they are:

Amount Credit Card Transaction Fee
$0.01 - $15.00 $0.35 + 0.00% (Add 1.00% for non-U.S. transactions)
$15.01 - $2,000.00 $0.35 + 1.75% (Add 1.00% for non-U.S. transactions)
Per Transaction Limit: $2,000.00

Paypal is not such a good deal after all.
And I have been with them for a LONG time.

Kelly

Kelly - you might want to check your math:

First of all, its 1.5%, not 1.9%.

Second of all, 1.5% of $100 would be $1.50, not 1.5 cents. Those little 1.5%'s really add up, I know one user who has gotten about $800 back through the program... In fact for June, I actually got more in cash back than I paid Paypal in Fees - so for June, I made money!

No doubt...Who would complain about ANY amount your getting back...Wipes most of my fee's out not to mention I'm using it to pay E-bay as well...

Heck, give me 1/2% and I'm happy
