I just paid for an auction using existing PayPal funds. Why in the world does it say I have an unconfirmed mailing address? Goodness sakes, PayPal has certainly sent enough checks to me from my account! How do I fix this??? And no, I do not want to activate my debit card. Thanks!

Hi,

A confirmed address is an account with a credit card on file. Do you have a credit card on file?

You input your CC# and Paypal uses the "address verification" feature of credit cards to confirm your shipping address.

But, read their TOS:

[In case of a chargeback] PayPal will seek to recover the funds from you by debiting your PayPal balance and, if there are not sufficient funds in your PayPal balance, PayPal reserves the right to collect your debt to PayPal by any other legal means. You authorize PayPal to charge your credit card or debit card, in the amount of any debt to PayPal.

I think many people choose to remain unconfirmed for this reason.
