A good friend of mine just emailed me the following from the BBB website that people have enjoyed quoting re: Paypal's unsatisfactory rating.

"Our file experience shows that the company has a satisfactory record. To have a satisfactory record with the Bureau, a company must be in business for at least 12 months, properly and promtly address matters referred to it by the Better Business Bureau, and be free from an unusual volume or pattern of complaints and law enforcement action involving its marketplace conduct. In addition, the Bureau must have a clear understanding of the company's business and no concerns about its industry.
PayPal is a third party facilitator for the transfer of monies between individuals or businesses conducting online transactions. Our file experience shows that PayPal has a satisfactory record with the Better Business Bureau. Although an unsatisfactory record was previously reported due to a pattern of complaints, PayPal has taken action as prescribed by the Better Business Bureau to correct the underlying cause of those complaints. As a result, there has been a substantial reduction in a number of complaints received by the Bureau and the pattern has been eliminated. PayPal addresses all complaints brought to its attention by the Bureau and continues to work with the Bureau in evaluating complaints and increasing customer satisfaction."

I thought I'd mention it here...

BUMPING this up...

Fair is fair (said Billy Jean!) and I think this is a very noteworthy event!

To be fair, we should offer Kudos to PP for obviously expending a lot of time and effort in improving their record!

Too bad it had to get so bad before they acted! But this is an achievement & I applaud them

I've always said PayPal responds very quickly to complaints made to the BBB.

Say nice things about Paypal
....Get a Free T-shirt

Become a BBB "Member"
....Get a Satisfactory Rating

I know that one doesn't relate to the other. It does appear that Paypal still has some unhappy customers. The BBB does not require or expect every complaint be settled to the satisfaction of the originator, just that they respond. Me personally, I got a response, just not a good one. Damon, on the other hand, had Paypal compensate me despite...

I got TWO t-shirts immediately from Damon!! The first one was the wrong size, so I passed it on to one of my kids and he immediately sent me a replacement. I offered to return the first one but he said to keep it - THANSK!!
