Hi,

After being a long time user of PAYPAL, I have finally come to the conclusion that they are indeed crooks! Yes, I have gone through the freezing of account because I used a different IP one time (they still accept money, but block access to it) and have now gone through the chargeback from my account for totally bogus reasons.

Anyway, I have given all the information to my attorney who has already found numerous mistakes (spelling included) that point to wrong doings on behalf of this cowboy outfit.

What I want, is to hear from anyone that has had or is having a problem with PAYPAL at the moment. I am doing two things.

1. Developing a website (I am a professional web designer by trade) for the sole purpose of bringing together EVERYONE that has or is having a problem with PAYPAL. I am getting the backing of some well to do people that are also angry and tired of this so the site will be no expense spared.

2. Researching the possibility of a class action law suit against PAYPAL on behalf of everyone involved. I would be willing to spearhead this effort and have the legal backing to attempt this.

To all you people that praise PAYPAL, all I can say is I used to do the same. You WILL at some point see the way this company works, be it frozen account or taking money from your account.

To the person that comes on here representing PAYPAL, if you really are from PAYAL, please don't waste your time cutting and pasting policy quotes and giving us the runaround. You are NOT an attorney and do NOT represent PAYPAL in that capacity. When this gets moving we will be dealing with the appropriate people to find a solution to this problem.

Email me direct or post here to the thread. Rest assured that PAYPAL will take ALL our complaints seriously and WE WILL BE HEARD!

Thanks for your time,

Dave

Email me direct or post here to the thread.

How do you expect them to email you direct without offering an email address?

Hi mauly,

Can you please send me your email address so that I can validate the problem? I would like to see it resolved if possible. I apologize for the issues you have had, but I would like to make sure that there is closure.

I do represent PayPal for the company in the forums, which is why I have to point to policy.

paypaldamon,

Here is the PAYPAL transaction id for you to look into. If you have any insight into this matter it would be appreciated. Again, I am not interested in policy quotes as the policy is questionable at this point. Feel free to do whatever you need to do though. Please be aware that all correspondence is being sent to my attorney as well.

Feel free to email me at the address listed above if you choose to be helpful.

Hi mauly,

The email address you posted does not correspond with a PayPal account. Can you send the information to [email protected]? I would need the email address active to your PayPal account to resolve. I can't view by transaction ID-

Thanks!

Hi mauly,

Thank you for the information. It has been forwarded to the chargeback team to advise.

Hi mauly,

Based on the information posted, as well as what I have looked at briefly, you had a chargeback on your account from a user. Sellers are offered protections from chargebacks if they follow the guidelines of the Seller Protection Program (applies to claims of non-delivery/fraudulent credit card usage only).

PayPal has no control over chargeback issuance, as these items are dictated by the credit card companies. Chargebacks are also a consumer right.

I am pasting the information about chargebacks here for the benefit of other readers of the forums...

Terms of use-
If you do not qualify for the Seller Protection Policy. When you receive funds through PayPal, if the sender's transaction is reversed for any reason and you do not qualify for the Seller Protection Policy for that transaction, you will owe PayPal for the amount of the reversed transaction plus any fees imposed on PayPal as a result of the reversal. You agree to reimburse PayPal from either your PayPal account or by other means. Although PayPal will vigorously pursue debt collection of any amounts owed to it, PayPal will never make electronic transfers from your bank account without your express permission.

Seller Protection Policy-
General. PayPal agrees to indemnify sellers of physical goods from chargeback liability resulting from a buyer's unauthorized use of a credit card and/or false claims of non-shipment of goods. This protection applies to up to $5,000 per year of payments received by the seller through PayPal if the following conditions are met:

The seller has a Verified Business or Verified Premier Account (U.S.). Note: While International sellers may have a status of International - Verified, they do not qualify for and are not protected by the Seller Protection Policy and therefore may be responsible for any reversals made due to fraudulent funds.

The seller ships to the buyer's Confirmed Address.

The seller can provide reasonable proof-of-shipment which can be tracked online. This documentation must show that you shipped to the Confirmed Address. (Most U.S. carrier companies offer this service, including the U.S. Postal Service.) Because comparable proof-of-shipment is not currently available for electronically-delivered items, we are currently unable to offer Seller Protection for digital goods and other electronically-delivered items.

The seller accepted a single payment from only one PayPal account for the purchase. (Multiple payments from different accounts for a single item are a fraud indicator. Sellers should not accept such payments.)

The seller ships to a domestic (U.S.) buyer at a U.S. address.

The seller cooperates in resolving disputes by responding in the following time periods: When a complaint occurs, the seller must provide complete information within 7 days of a request from PayPal. However, if PayPal is required by the credit card association to respond immediately to resolve a chargeback, sellers must provide the information within 3 days. PayPal will indicate the response time required in the e-mail message sent to the seller.

This is different to my ideas and possible class action, but may be useful to some of you.

Class Action Law Suit Against PayPal Possible!
There is a law firm in Chicago that is collecting evidence to determine if a class action against PayPal is warranted. We talked to Mr. Horiwitz and he was appalled by some of the PayPal horror stories that have been recounted to us. If you feel you have a claim against PayPal please contact:

If a lawyer fails to be 'appalled' at the injustice you have suffered they face losing their license.

I contacted the law firm of Dewie, Cheatum, & Howe to verify that accuracy of that information.

don't worry about those kind of comments I've had my problems since Feb.this year and I've gotten plenty of them. Fact is 99% of the people here are good honest people that are just being taken advantage of. Just like me your trying to help others as well as yourself.

Hi Mauly,

I have an ongoing problem with PayPal that is certainly not being taken care of as I would like. It doesn't involve a large amount of money, but it does involve MY MONEY and that makes a difference to me. I am going to be kicked off because a customer of mine gave some fraudulent information about his account. It has nothing to do with me except I accepted, in good faith, money from him. PayPal has the attitude that they should accept NO RISK at all and in punishing even those who are completely innocent of any wrong doing. If the buyer committed fraud against PayPal, then they should go after the person who committed the fraud and not someone who is innocent, like I am. I wrote them and told them that I had not accepted any credit card information, had no knowledge of credit card information and had only accepted a payment from a customer through PayPal. They deducted the appropriate fees for those transactions. PP has to know that in any type of business that deals with money, they accept a certain level of risk that has nothing to do with those who withdraw that money, in good faith.

Let me know at [email protected] how the case goes. Thanks.

MarMac
